Exodus 14
Revised Version 1895
1And the LORDH3068 spake unto MosesH4872, sayingH559, 2SpeakH1696 unto the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478, that they turnH7725 backH7725 and encampH2583 beforeH6440 Pi-hahirothH6367, betweenH996 MigdolH4024 and the seaH3220, beforeH6440 Baal-zephonH1189: over againstH5921 it shall ye encampH2583 by the seaH3220. 3And PharaohH6547 will sayH559 of the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478, They are entangled in the landH776, the wildernessH4057 hath shutH5462 them in. 4And I will hardenH2388 Pharaoh’sH6547 heartH3820, and he shall followH310 afterH310 them; and I will get meH310 honour upon PharaohH6547, and upon allH3605 his host; and the EgyptiansH4713 shall knowH3045 that I am the LORDH3068. And they didH6213 soH3651. 5And it was toldH5046 the kingH4428 of EgyptH4714 that the peopleH5971 were fledH1272: and the heartH3824 of PharaohH6547 and of his servantsH5650 was changedH2015 towards the peopleH5971, and they saidH559, WhatH4100 is this weH3588 have doneH6213, that weH3588 have letH7971 IsraelH3478 goH7971 from servingH5647 usH413? 6And he madeH631 readyH631 his chariotH7393, and tookH3947 his peopleH5971 with him: 7and he tookH3947 sixH8337 hundredH3967 chosenH3947 chariotsH7393, and allH3605 the chariotsH7393 of EgyptH4714, and captains over allH3605 of them. 8And the LORDH3068 hardenedH2388 the heartH3820 of PharaohH6547 kingH4428 of EgyptH4714, and he pursuedH7291 afterH310 the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478, for the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 wentH3318 outH3318 with an highH7311 handH3027. 9And the EgyptiansH4713 pursuedH7291 afterH310 them, allH3605 the horsesH5483 and chariotsH7393 of PharaohH6547, and his horsemenH6571, and his armyH2428, and overtookH5381 them encamping by the seaH3220, besideH5921 Pi-hahirothH6367, beforeH6440 Baal-zephonH1189. 10And when PharaohH6547 drewH7126 nigh, the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 liftedH5375 upH5375 their eyesH5869, and, beholdH2009, the EgyptiansH4713 marched afterH310 them; and they were sore afraidH3372: and the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 criedH6817 outH5265 unto the LORDH3068. 11And they saidH559 unto MosesH4872, BecauseH413 there were noH369 gravesH6913 in EgyptH4714, hast thou takenH3947 usH413 awayH3947 to dieH4191 in the wildernessH4057? wherefore hast thou dealt thusH4191 with usH413, to bringH3318 usH413 forthH3318 outH3318 of EgyptH4714? 12Is notH3808 this the wordH1697 that weH3588 spake unto thee in EgyptH4714, sayingH559, LetH3808 usH413 aloneH2308, that weH3588 may serveH5647 the EgyptiansH4714? For it were betterH2896 for usH413 to serveH5647 the EgyptiansH4714, thanH4480 that weH3588 should dieH4191 in the wildernessH4057. 13And MosesH4872 saidH559 unto the peopleH5971, FearH3372 ye notH3808, standH3320 stillH5750, and seeH7200 the salvationH3444 of the LORDH3068, whichH834 he will work for youH834 todayH3117: for the EgyptiansH4713 whomH834 ye have seenH7200 todayH3117, ye shall seeH7200 them againH5750 noH3808 moreH5750 for everH5769. 14The LORDH3068 shall fightH3898 for youH859, and ye shall hold your peace. 15And the LORDH3068 saidH559 unto MosesH4872, Wherefore criest thou unto meH413? speakH1696 unto the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478, that they goH5265 forwardH5265. 16And liftH7311 thou upH7311 thy rodH4294, and stretchH5186 outH5186 thine handH3027 over the seaH3220, and divideH1234 it: and the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 shall goH935 intoH935 the midstH8432 of the seaH3220 on dryH3004 groundH3004. 17And I, beholdH2005, I will hardenH2388 the heartsH3820 of the EgyptiansH4713, and they shall goH935 in afterH310 them: and I will getH935 meH935 honour uponH935 PharaohH6547, and uponH935 allH3605 his host, uponH935 his chariotsH7393, and uponH935 his horsemenH6571. 18And the EgyptiansH4713 shall knowH3045 that I am the LORDH3068, when I have gotten meH589 honour upon PharaohH6547, upon his chariotsH7393, and upon his horsemenH6571. 19And the angelH4397 of GodH430, which wentH1980 beforeH6440 the campH4264 of IsraelH3478, removedH5265 and wentH1980 behindH310 them; and the pillarH5982 of cloudH6051 removedH5265 from beforeH6440 them, and stoodH5975 behindH310 them: 20and it cameH935 betweenH996 the campH4264 of EgyptH4714 and the campH4264 of IsraelH3478; and there was the cloudH6051 and the darknessH2822, yet gaveH1961 it lightH215 by nightH3915: and the one cameH935 notH3808 nearH7126 the otherH2088 allH3605 the nightH3915. 21And MosesH4872 stretchedH5186 outH5186 his handH3027 over the seaH3220; and the LORDH3068 caused the seaH3220 to go backH5186 by a strongH5794 eastH6921 windH7307 allH3605 the nightH3915, and madeH7760 the seaH3220 dryH2724 landH2724, and the watersH4325 were dividedH1234. 22And the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 wentH935 intoH935 the midstH8432 of the seaH3220 uponH935 the dryH3004 groundH3004: and the watersH4325 were a wallH2346 unto them on their rightH3225 handH3225, and on their leftH8040. 23And the EgyptiansH4713 pursuedH7291, and wentH935 in afterH310 them intoH413 the midstH8432 of the seaH3220, allH3605 Pharaoh’sH6547 horsesH5483, his chariotsH7393, and his horsemenH6571. 24And it cameH1961 to passH1961 in the morningH1242 watchH821, that the LORDH3068 lookedH8259 forth uponH1961 the hostH4264 of the EgyptiansH4713 throughH413 the pillarH5982 of fireH784 and of cloudH6051, and discomfited the hostH4264 of the EgyptiansH4713. 25And he tookH5493 offH5493 their chariotH4818 wheelsH212, that they drave them heavily: soH3588 that the EgyptiansH4714 saidH559, Let usH3588 fleeH5127 from the faceH6440 of IsraelH3478; for the LORDH3068 fighteth for them againstH6440 the EgyptiansH4714. 26And the LORDH3068 saidH559 unto MosesH4872, StretchH5186 outH5186 thine handH3027 over the seaH3220, that the watersH4325 may comeH7725 againH7725 uponH5921 the EgyptiansH4714, uponH5921 their chariotsH7393, and uponH5921 their horsemenH6571. 27And MosesH4872 stretchedH5186 forth his handH3027 over the seaH3220, and the seaH3220 returnedH7725 to itsH853 strengthH3027 when the morningH1242 appeared; and the EgyptiansH4714 fledH5127 againstH5921 it; and the LORDH3068 overthrewH5287 the EgyptiansH4714 in the midstH8432 of the seaH3220. 28And the watersH4325 returnedH7725, and coveredH3680 the chariotsH7393, and the horsemenH6571, evenH5704 allH3605 the host of PharaohH6547 that wentH935 in afterH310 them intoH935 the seaH3220; there remainedH7604 notH3808 soH3808 muchH3605 as one of them. 29But the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 walkedH1980 upon dryH3004 landH3004 in the midstH8432 of the seaH3220; and the watersH4325 were a wallH2346 unto them on their rightH3225 handH3225, and on their leftH8040. 30ThusH4191 the LORDH3068 savedH3467 IsraelH3478 that dayH3117 outH5921 of the handH3027 of the EgyptiansH4714; and IsraelH3478 sawH7200 the EgyptiansH4714 deadH4191 uponH5921 the seaH3220 shoreH8193. 31And IsraelH3478 sawH7200 the greatH1419 work whichH834 the LORDH3068 didH6213 uponH7200 the EgyptiansH4714, and the peopleH5971 fearedH3372 the LORDH3068: and they believedH539 in the LORDH3068, and in his servantH5650 MosesH4872.
