Exodus 9
Revised Version 1895
1Then the LORDH3068 saidH559 unto MosesH4872, GoH935 in unto PharaohH6547, and tellH559 him, ThusH3541 saith the LORDH3068, the GodH430 of the HebrewsH5680, LetH7971 my peopleH5971 goH935, that they may serveH5647 meH413. 2For ifH518 thou refuseH3986 to letH7971 them goH7971, and wilt holdH2388 them stillH5750, 3beholdH2009, the handH3027 of the LORDH3068 is uponH1961 thy cattleH1241 whichH834 is in the fieldH7704, uponH1961 the horsesH5483, uponH1961 the asses, uponH1961 the camelsH1581, uponH1961 the herdsH1241, and uponH1961 the flocksH6629: there shall be a veryH3966 grievousH3515 murrain. 4And the LORDH3068 shall sever betweenH996 the cattleH4735 of IsraelH3478 and the cattleH4735 of EgyptH4714: and there shall nothingH3808 dieH4191 of allH3605 that belongeth to the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478. 5And the LORDH3068 appointedH4150 a setH7760 time, sayingH559, TomorrowH4279 the LORDH3068 shall doH6213 this thingH1697 in the landH776. 6And the LORDH3068 didH6213 that thingH1697 on the morrow, and allH3605 the cattleH4735 of EgyptH4713 diedH4191: but of the cattleH4735 of the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 diedH4191 notH3808 one. 7And PharaohH6547 sentH7971, and, beholdH2009, there was notH3808 soH7971 much as one of the cattleH4735 of the IsraelitesH3478 deadH4191. But the heartH3820 of PharaohH6547 was stubborn, and he didH3808 notH3808 letH7971 the peopleH5971 goH7971. 8And the LORDH3068 saidH559 unto MosesH4872 and unto AaronH175, TakeH3947 to youH3947 handfulsH2651 of ashes of the furnaceH3536, and let MosesH4872 sprinkleH2236 it towardH413 the heavenH8064 in the sightH5869 of PharaohH6547. 9And it shall becomeH1961 small dustH80 over allH3605 the landH776 of EgyptH4714, and shall be a boilH7822 breakingH6524 forth with blains uponH5921 manH120 and uponH5921 beastH929, throughoutH3605 allH3605 the landH776 of EgyptH4714. 10And they tookH3947 ashes of the furnaceH3536, and stoodH5975 beforeH6440 PharaohH6547; and MosesH4872 sprinkledH2236 it upH5975 towardH6440 heavenH8064; and it becameH1961 a boilH7822 breakingH6524 forthH3947 with blains uponH1961 manH120 and uponH1961 beastH929. 11And the magiciansH2748 couldH3201 notH3808 standH5975 beforeH6440 MosesH4872 becauseH3588 of the boilsH7822; for the boilsH7822 were uponH1961 the magiciansH2748, and uponH1961 allH3605 the EgyptiansH4713. 12And the LORDH3068 hardenedH2388 the heartH3820 of PharaohH6547, and he hearkened notH3808 unto them; as the LORDH3068 had spokenH1696 unto MosesH4872. 13And the LORDH3068 saidH559 unto MosesH4872, RiseH7925 upH7925 earlyH7925 in the morningH1242, and standH3320 beforeH6440 PharaohH6547, and sayH559 unto him, ThusH3541 saith the LORDH3068, the GodH430 of the HebrewsH5680, LetH7971 my peopleH5971 goH7971, that they may serveH5647 meH413. 14For I will this time sendH7971 allH3605 my plaguesH4046 uponH413 thine heartH3820, and uponH413 thy servantsH5650, and uponH413 thy peopleH5971; that thou mayest knowH3045 that there is noneH369 like meH413 in allH3605 the earthH776. 15For nowH6258 I had putH7971 forthH7971 my handH3027, and smittenH5221 thee and thy peopleH5971 with pestilenceH1698, and thou hadst been cutH3582 offH3582 from the earthH776: 16but in very deedH5608 for this cause have I madeH3605 thee to standH5975, for to shew thee my powerH3581, and that my nameH8034 may be declaredH5608 throughoutH3605 allH3605 the earthH776. 17As yet exaltest thou thyself against my peopleH5971, that thou wilt notH1115 letH7971 them goH7971? 18BeholdH2005, tomorrowH4279 aboutH1961 this time I will causeH1961 it to rainH4305 a veryH3966 grievousH3515 hailH1259, suchH834 as hath notH3808 been in EgyptH4714 sinceH4480 the dayH3117 it was foundedH3245 evenH5704 untilH5704 nowH6258. 19NowH6258 therefore sendH7971, hasten in thy cattleH929 and allH3605 that thou hast in the fieldH7704; for everyH3605 manH120 and beastH929 whichH834 shall be foundH4672 in the fieldH7704, and shall notH3808 be broughtH3381 homeH1004, the hailH1259 shall comeH3381 downH3381 uponH5921 them, and they shall dieH4191. 20He that fearedH3372 the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 among the servantsH5650 of PharaohH6547 made his servantsH5650 and his cattleH4735 fleeH5127 intoH413 the housesH1004: 21and he that regarded notH3808 the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 leftH5800 his servantsH5650 and his cattleH4735 in the fieldH7704. 22And the LORDH3068 saidH559 unto MosesH4872, StretchH5186 forth thine handH3027 towardH413 heavenH8064, that there may be hailH1259 in allH3605 the landH776 of EgyptH4714, uponH5921 manH120, and uponH5921 beastH929, and uponH5921 everyH3605 herbH6212 of the fieldH7704, throughoutH3605 the landH776 of EgyptH4714. 23And MosesH4872 stretchedH5186 forthH5414 his rodH4294 towardH5921 heavenH8064: and the LORDH3068 sentH5414 thunderH6963 and hailH1259, and fireH784 ranH1980 downH5186 unto the earthH776; and the LORDH3068 rainedH4305 hailH1259 uponH5921 the landH776 of EgyptH4714. 24SoH3947 there was hailH1259, and fireH784 mingledH8432 with the hailH1259, veryH3966 grievousH3515, suchH834 as had notH3808 been in allH3605 the landH776 of EgyptH4714 sinceH834 it becameH1961 a nationH1471. 25And the hailH1259 smoteH5221 throughoutH3605 allH3605 the landH776 of EgyptH4714 allH3605 that was in the fieldH7704, bothH3605 manH120 and beastH929; and the hailH1259 smoteH5221 everyH3605 herbH6212 of the fieldH7704, and brake everyH3605 treeH6086 of the fieldH7704. 26OnlyH7535 in the landH776 of GoshenH1657, whereH834 the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 were, was there noH3808 hailH1259. 27And PharaohH6547 sentH7971, and calledH7121 for MosesH4872 and AaronH175, and saidH559 unto them, I have sinnedH2398 this time: the LORDH3068 is righteousH6662, and I and my peopleH5971 are wickedH7563. 28EntreatH6279 the LORDH3068; for there hath been enoughH7227 of these mightyH430 thunderingsH6963 and hailH1259; and I will letH7971 youH7971 goH7971, and ye shall stayH5975 noH3808 longerH3254. 29And MosesH4872 saidH559 unto him, As soonH3588 as I am goneH3318 outH3318 of the cityH5892, I will spreadH6566 abroad my handsH3709 unto the LORDH3068; the thunders shall ceaseH2308, neitherH3808 shall there be anyH5750 moreH5750 hailH1259; that thou mayest knowH3045 that the earthH776 is the LORD’SH3068. 30But as for thee and thy servantsH5650, I knowH3045 that ye will notH3588 yet fearH3372 the LORDH3068 GodH430. 31And the flaxH6594 and the barleyH8184 were smittenH5221: for the barleyH8184 was in the earH24, and the flaxH6594 was bolled. 32But the wheatH2406 and the speltH3698 were notH3808 smittenH5221: for they were notH3808 grown up. 33And MosesH4872 wentH3318 outH3318 of the cityH5892 from PharaohH6547, and spreadH6566 abroad his handsH3709 unto the LORDH3068: and the thunders and hailH1259 ceasedH2308, and the rainH4306 was notH3808 pouredH5413 uponH413 the earthH776. 34And when PharaohH6547 sawH7200 that the rainH4306 and the hailH1259 and the thunders were ceasedH2308, he sinnedH2398 yet moreH3254, and hardenedH3513 his heartH3820, he and his servantsH5650. 35And the heartH3820 of PharaohH6547 was hardenedH2388, and he didH834 notH3808 letH7971 the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 goH7971; as the LORDH3068 had spokenH1696 by MosesH4872.
