2And the handיַד־yad-H3027of Midianמִדְיָ֖ןmid.YanH4080prevailedוַתָּ֥עָזva.Ta.'ozH5810against Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478: andbecauseמִפְּנֵ֨יmi.pe.NeiH6440of the Midianitesמִדְיָ֜ןmid.YanH4080the childrenבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478madeעָשֽׂוּ'a.SuH6213them the densהַמִּנְהָרוֹת֙ha.min.ha.rOtH4492which arein the mountainsבֶּֽהָרִ֔יםbe.ha.RimH2022,and cavesהַמְּעָר֖וֹתha.me.'a.RotH4631,and strong holdsהַמְּצָדֽוֹת׃ha.me.tza.DotH4679.

3And soit was, when Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478had sownזָרַ֣עza.Ra'H2232,that the Midianitesמִדְיָ֧ןmid.YanH4080came upוְעָלָ֨הve.'a.LahH5927,and the Amalekitesוַֽעֲמָלֵ֛קva.'a.ma.LekH6002,and the childrenוּבְנֵי־u.ve.nei-H1121of the eastקֶ֖דֶםKe.demH6924,even they came upוְעָל֥וּve.'a.LuH5927against them;

4And they encampedוַיַּחֲנ֣וּvai.ya.cha.NuH2583against them, and destroyedוַיַּשְׁחִ֙יתוּ֙vai.yash.Chi.tuH7843the increaseיְב֣וּלye.VulH2981of the earthהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776,till thou comeבּוֹאֲךָ֖bo.'a.KhaH935unto Gazaעַזָּ֑ה'a.ZahH5804,and leftיַשְׁאִ֤ירוּyash.'I.ruH7604no sustenanceמִֽחְיָה֙mich.YahH4241for Israelבְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לbe.Yis.ra.'ElH3478,neither sheepוְשֶׂ֥הve.SehH7716,nor oxוָשׁ֖וֹרva.ShorH7794,nor donkeyוַחֲמֽוֹר׃va.cha.MorH2543.

5For they came upיַעֲל֜וּya.'a.LuH5927with their cattleוּמִקְנֵיהֶ֨םu.mik.nei.HemH4735and their tentsוְאָהֳלֵיהֶ֗םve.'o.ho.lei.HemH168,and they cameוּבָ֤אוּvu.ba'uH935asכְדֵֽי־khe.dei-H1767grasshoppersאַרְבֶּה֙'ar.BehH697for multitudeלָרֹ֔בla.RoH7230; forboth they and their camelsוְלִגְמַלֵּיהֶ֖םve.lig.ma.lei.HemH1581were without numberמִסְפָּ֑רmis.ParH4557:and they enteredוַיָּבֹ֥אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935into the landבָאָ֖רֶץva.'A.retzH776to destroyלְשַׁחֲתָֽהּ׃le.sha.cha.TahH7843it.

6And Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֛לYis.ra.'ElH3478was greatlyמְאֹ֖דme.'OdH3966impoverishedוַיִּדַּ֧לvai.yi.DalH1809becauseמִפְּנֵ֣יmi.pe.NeiH6440of the Midianitesמִדְיָ֑ןmid.YanH4080;and the childrenבְנֵֽי־ve.nei-H1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478criedוַיִּזְעֲק֥וּvai.yiz.'a.KuH2199unto Yhwhיְהוָֽה׃ פYah.wehH3068.

7And it came to pass, when the childrenבְנֵֽי־ve.nei-H1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478criedזָעֲק֥וּza.'a.KuH2199unto Yhwhיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068becauseאֹד֥וֹת'o.DotH182of the Midianitesמִדְיָֽן׃mid.YanH4080,

8That Yhwhיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068sentוַיִּשְׁלַ֧חvai.yish.LachH7971a prophetאִ֥ישׁ נָבִ֖יא'ish na.Vi'H5030 H376unto the childrenבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478,which saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto them, Thus saithאָמַ֥ר'a.MarH559Yhwhיְהוָ֣ה׀Yah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478,I brought you upהֶעֱלֵ֤יתִיhe.'e.Lei.tiH5927from Egyptמִמִּצְרַ֔יִםmi.mitz.Ra.yimH4714,and brought you forthוָאֹצִ֥יאva.'o.Tzi'H3318out of the houseמִבֵּ֥יתmi.BeitH1004of bondageעֲבָדִֽים׃'a.va.DimH5650;

9And I deliveredוָאַצִּ֤לva.'a.TzilH5337you out of the handמִיַּ֣דmi.YadH3027of the EgyptiansH4714,and out of the handוּמִיַּ֖דu.mi.YadH3027of all that oppressedלֹחֲצֵיכֶ֑םlo.cha.tzei.KhemH3905you, and drave them outוָאֲגָרֵ֤שׁva.'a.ga.ReshH1644from beforeמִפְּנֵיכֶ֔םmi.pe.nei.KhemH6440you, and gaveוָאֶתְּנָ֥הva.'e.te.NahH5414you their landאַרְצָֽם׃'ar.TzamH776;

10And I saidוָאֹמְרָ֣הva.'o.me.RahH559unto you, I amYhwhיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֵיכֶ֔ם'e.lo.hei.KhemH430;fearתִֽירְאוּ֙ti.re.'UH3372not the godsאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of the Amoritesהָאֱמֹרִ֔יha.'e.mo.RiH567,in whose landבְּאַרְצָ֑םbe.'ar.TzamH776ye dwellיוֹשְׁבִ֣יםyo.she.VimH3427:but ye have not obeyedשְׁמַעְתֶּ֖םshe.ma'.TemH8085my voiceבְּקוֹלִֽי׃ פbe.ko.LiH6963.

11And there cameוַיָּבֹ֞אvai.ya.Vo'H935an angelמַלְאַ֣ךְmal.'AkhH4397of Yhwhיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068,and satוַיֵּ֙שֶׁב֙vai.Ye.shevH3427under an oakהָֽאֵלָה֙ha.'e.LahH424which wasin Ophrahבְּעָפְרָ֔הbe.'a.fe.RahH6084, that pertainedunto Joashלְיוֹאָ֖שׁle.yo.'AshH3101the Abi–ezriteH33:and his sonבְּנ֗וֹbe.NoH1121Gideonוְגִדְע֣וֹןve.gid.'onH1439threshedחֹבֵ֤טcho.VetH2251wheatחִטִּים֙chi.TimH2406by the winepressבַּגַּ֔תba.GatH1660,to hideלְהָנִ֖יסle.ha.NisH5127itfromמִפְּנֵ֥יmi.pe.NeiH6440the Midianitesמִדְיָֽן׃mid.YanH4080.

12And the angelמַלְאַ֣ךְmal.'AkhH4397of Yhwhיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068appearedוַיֵּרָ֥אvai.ye.Ra'H7200unto him, and saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto him, Yhwhיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068iswith thee, thou mightyגִּבּ֥וֹרgi.BorH1368man of valourהֶחָֽיִל׃he.Cha.yilH2428.

13And Gideonגִּדְעוֹן֙gid.'OnH1439saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto him, Ohבִּ֣יbiH994my Lordאֲדֹנִ֔י'a.do.NiH113,ifוְיֵ֤שׁve.YeshH3426Yhwhיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068be with us, why then is all this befallenמְצָאַ֖תְנוּme.tza.'At.nuH4672us? and where beall his miraclesנִפְלְאֹתָ֡יוnif.le.'o.TavH6381which our fathersאֲבוֹתֵ֜ינוּ'a.vo.Tei.nuH1toldסִפְּרוּ־si.pe.ru-H5608us of, sayingלֵאמֹ֗רle.MorH559,Did not Yhwhיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068bring us upהֶעֱלָ֣נוּhe.'e.La.nuH5927from Egyptמִמִּצְרַ֙יִם֙mi.mitz.Ra.yimH4714?but now Yhwhיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068hath forsakenנְטָשָׁ֣נוּne.ta.Sha.nuH5203us, and deliveredוַֽיִּתְּנֵ֖נוּvai.yi.te.Ne.nuH5414us into the handsבְּכַף־be.khaf-H3709of the Midianitesמִדְיָֽן׃mid.YanH4080.

14And Yhwhיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068lookedוַיִּ֤פֶןvai.Yi.fenH6437upon him, and saidוַיֹּ֗אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,GoH3212in this thy mightבְּכֹחֲךָ֣be.kho.cha.KhaH3581,and thou shalt saveוְהוֹשַׁעְתָּ֥ve.ho.sha'.TaH3467Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478from the handמִכַּ֣ףmi.KafH3709of the Midianitesמִדְיָ֑ןmid.YanH4080:have not I sentשְׁלַחְתִּֽיךָ׃she.lach.Ti.khaH7971thee?
