2Then Nathanנָתָן֙na.TanH5416saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto Davidדָּוִ֔ידda.VidH1732,Doעֲשֵׂ֑ה'a.SehH6213all that isin thine heartבִּֽלְבָבְךָ֖bil.va.ve.KhaH3824;for Godהָאֱלֹהִ֖יםha.'E.lo.HimH430is with thee.

3And it came to pass the same nightבַּלַּ֣יְלָהba.Lay.lahH3915,that the wordדְּבַר־de.var-H1697of Godאֱלֹהִ֔ים'E.lo.HimH430came to Nathanנָתָ֖ןna.TanH5416,sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

4GoH3212and tellוְאָמַרְתָּ֙ve.'a.mar.TaH559Davidדָּוִ֣ידda.VidH1732my servantעַבְדִּ֔י'av.DiH5650,Thus saithאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559Yhwhיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068,Thou shalt not buildתִּבְנֶה־tiv.neh-H1129me an houseהַבַּ֖יִתha.Ba.yitH1004to dwell inלָשָֽׁבֶת׃la.Sha.vetH3427:

6Wheresoever I have walkedהִתְהַלַּכְתִּי֮hit.ha.lakh.TiH1980with all Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֒Yis.ra.'ElH3478,spakeדִּבַּ֗רְתִּיdi.Bar.tiH1696I a wordהֲדָבָ֣רha.da.VarH1697to anyאַחַד֙'a.ChadH259of the judgesשֹׁפְטֵ֣יsho.fe.TeiH8199of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478,whom I commandedצִוִּ֛יתִיtzi.Vi.tiH6680to feedלִרְע֥וֹתlir.'otH7462my peopleעַמִּ֖י'a.MiH5971,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559,Why have ye not builtבְנִיתֶ֥םve.ni.TemH1129me an houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of cedarsאֲרָזִֽים׃'a.ra.ZimH730?

7Now therefore thus shalt thou sayתֹאמַ֞רto.MarH559unto my servantלְעַבְדִּ֣יle.'av.DiH5650Davidלְדָוִ֗יד סle.da.VidH1732,Thus saithאָמַר֙'a.MarH559Yhwhיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of Armiesצְבָא֔וֹתtze.va.'otH6635,I tookלְקַחְתִּ֙יךָ֙le.kach.Ti.khaH3947thee from the sheepcoteהַנָּוֶ֔הha.na.VehH5116, evenfrom followingאַחֲרֵ֖י'a.cha.ReiH310the sheepהַצֹּ֑אןha.TzonH6629,that thou shouldest be rulerנָגִ֔ידna.GidH5057over my peopleעַמִּ֥י'a.MiH5971Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478:

8And I have been with thee whithersoever thou hast walkedהָלַ֔כְתָּha.Lakh.taH1980,and have cut offוָאַכְרִ֥יתva.'akh.RitH3772all thine enemiesאוֹיְבֶ֖יךָ'oy.Vei.khaH341from beforeמִפָּנֶ֑יךָmi.pa.Nei.khaH6440thee, and have madeוְעָשִׂ֤יתִֽיve.'a.Si.tiH6213thee a nameשֵׁ֔םShemH8034like the nameכְּשֵׁ֥םke.ShemH8034of the great menהַגְּדוֹלִ֖יםha.ge.do.LimH1419that arein the earthבָּאָֽרֶץ׃ba.'A.retzH776.

9Also I will ordainוְשַׂמְתִּ֣יve.sam.TiH7760a placeמָ֠קוֹםMa.komH4725for my peopleלְעַמִּ֨יle.'a.MiH5971Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֤לYis.ra.'ElH3478,and will plantוּנְטַעְתִּ֙יהוּ֙u.ne.ta'.Ti.huH5193them, and they shall dwellוְשָׁכַ֣ןve.sha.KhanH7931in their place, and shall be movedיִרְגַּ֖זyir.GazH7264no more; neither shall the childrenבְנֵי־ve.nei-H1121of wickednessעַוְלָה֙'av.LahH5766wasteלְבַלֹּת֔וֹle.va.lo.ToH1086them any moreיוֹסִ֤יפוּyo.Si.fuH3254,as at the beginningבָּרִאשׁוֹנָֽה׃ba.ri.sho.NahH7223,

11And it shall come to pass, when thy daysיָמֶ֙יךָ֙ya.Mei.khaH3117be expiredמָלְא֤וּmal.'UH4390that thou must goH3212to bewith thy fathersאֲבֹתֶ֔יךָ'a.vo.Tei.khaH1,that I will raise upוַהֲקִֽימוֹתִ֤יva.ha.ki.mo.TiH6965thy seedזַרְעֲךָ֙zar.'a.KhaH2233afterאַחֲרֶ֔יךָ'a.cha.Rei.khaH310thee, which shall be of thy sonsמִבָּנֶ֑יךָmi.ba.Nei.khaH1121;and I will establishוַהֲכִינוֹתִ֖יva.ha.khi.no.TiH3559his kingdomמַלְכוּתֽוֹ׃mal.khu.ToH4438.

12He shall buildיִבְנֶה־yiv.neh-H1129me an houseבָּ֑יִתBa.yitH1004,and I will stablishוְכֹנַנְתִּ֥יve.kho.nan.TiH3559his throneכִּסְא֖וֹkis.'OH3678forעַד־'ad-H5704everעוֹלָֽם׃o.LamH5769.

13I will be his fatherלְאָ֔בle.'AvH1,and he shall be my sonלְבֵ֑ןle.VenH1121:and I will not takeH5493my mercyוְחַסְדִּי֙ve.chas.DiH2617awayH5493from him, as I tookH5493it from himthat was beforeלְפָנֶֽיךָ׃le.fa.Nei.khaH6440thee:

14But I will settleוְהַֽעֲמַדְתִּ֛יהוּve.ha.'a.mad.Ti.huH5975him in mine houseבְּבֵיתִ֥יbe.vei.TiH1004and in my kingdomוּבְמַלְכוּתִ֖יu.ve.mal.khu.TiH4438for everהָעוֹלָ֑םha.'o.LamH5769:and his throneוְכִסְא֕וֹve.khis.'OH3678shall be establishedנָכ֖וֹןna.KhonH3559forH5704evermoreעוֹלָֽם׃o.LamH5769.

15According to all these wordsהַדְּבָרִ֣יםha.de.va.RimH1697,and according to all this visionהֶחָז֣וֹןhe.cha.ZonH2377,so did Nathanנָתָ֖ןna.TanH5416speakדִּבֶּ֥רdi.BerH1696unto Davidדָּוִֽיד׃ פda.VidH1732.

16And Davidדָּוִ֔ידda.VidH1732the kingהַמֶּ֣לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428cameוַיָּבֹא֙vai.ya.Vo'H935and satוַיֵּ֖שֶׁבvai.Ye.shevH3427beforeלִפְנֵ֣יlif.NeiH6440Yhwhיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068,and saidוַיֹּ֗אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, Who amI, O Yhwhיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהִים֙'E.lo.HimH430, and what ismine houseבֵיתִ֔יvei.TiH1004,that thou hast broughtהֲבִיאֹתַ֖נִיha.vi.'o.Ta.niH935me hithertoהֲלֹֽם׃ha.LomH1988?

17And yetthis was a small thingוַתִּקְטַ֨ןva.tik.TanH6994in thine eyesבְּעֵינֶ֙יךָ֙be.'ei.Nei.khaH5869,O Godאֱלֹהִ֔ים'E.lo.HimH430; for thou hast alsospokenוַתְּדַבֵּ֥רva.te.da.BerH1696of thy servant’sעַבְדְּךָ֖'av.de.KhaH5650houseבֵּֽית־beit-H1004for a great while to comeלְמֵרָח֑וֹקle.me.ra.ChokH7350,and hast regardedוּרְאִיתַ֗נִיu.re.'i.Ta.niH7200me according to the estateכְּת֧וֹרke.TorH8448of a manהָאָדָ֛םha.'a.DamH120of high degreeהַֽמַּעֲלָ֖הha.ma.'a.LahH4609,O Yhwhיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהִֽים׃'E.lo.HimH430.

19O Yhwhיְהוָ֕הYah.wehH3068,for thy servant’sעַבְדְּךָ֙'av.de.KhaH5650sake, and according to thine own heartוּֽכְלִבְּךָ֔u.khe.li.be.KhaH3820,hast thou doneעָשִׂ֕יתָ'a.Si.taH6213all this greatnessהַגְּדוּלָּ֖הha.ge.du.LahH1420,in making knownלְהֹדִ֖יעַle.ho.Di.a'H3045all thesegreat thingsהַגְּדֻלּֽוֹת׃ha.ge.du.LotH1420.

20O Yhwhיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068, there is none like thee, neither is there anyGodאֱלֹהִ֖ים'E.lo.HimH430besideזוּלָתֶ֑ךָzu.la.Te.khaH2108thee, according to all that we have heardשָׁמַ֖עְנוּsha.Ma'.nuH8085with our earsבְּאָזְנֵֽינוּ׃be.'a.ze.Nei.nuH241.
