Titus 1:5-9
5For this reason I left you in 1Crete, that you would set in order what remains and 2appoint 3elders in every city as I directed you, 6namely, 4if any man is beyond reproach, the 5husband of one wife, having children who believe, not accused of 6indecent behavior or 7rebellion. 7For the 89overseer must be beyond reproach as 10God’s steward, not 11self-willed, not quick-tempered, not 12overindulging in wine, not 13a bully, 14not greedy for money, 8but 15hospitable, 16loving what is good, self-controlled, righteous, holy, disciplined, 917holding firmly the faithful word which is in accordance with the teaching, so that he will be able both to 18exhort in 19sound doctrine and to refute those who contradict it.
