Joshua 10:3-24
3Therefore Adoni-zedekH139 kingH4428 of JerusalemH3389 sentH7971 word 1to HohamH1944 kingH4428 of HebronH2275, to PiramH6502 kingH4428 of JarmuthH3412, to JaphiaH3309 kingH4428 of LachishH3923, and to DebirH1688 kingH4428 of EglonH5700, sayingH559, 4“ComeH5927 upH5927 to me and helpH5826 me, and let’s 2attackH5221 GibeonH1391, for it has 3madeH7999 peaceH7999 with JoshuaH3091 and with the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478.” 5So the fiveH2568 kingsH4428 of 4the AmoritesH567, the kingH4428 of JerusalemH3389, the kingH4428 of HebronH2275, the kingH4428 of JarmuthH3412, the kingH4428 of LachishH3923, and the kingH4428 of EglonH5700, gatheredH622 together and wentH5927 upH5927, they with allH3605 their armiesH4264, and campedH2583 by GibeonH1391 and foughtH3898 againstH5921 it.
6Then the menH376 of GibeonH1391 sentH7971 word to JoshuaH3091 at the campH4264 at GilgalH1537, sayingH559, “Do not 5abandonH7503H3027H4480 your servantsH5650; comeH5927 upH5927 to us quicklyH4120 and saveH3467 us and helpH5826 us, for allH3605 the kingsH4428 of the AmoritesH567 that liveH3427 in the hillH2022 countryH2022 have assembledH6908 againstH413 us.” 7So JoshuaH3091 wentH5927 upH5927 from GilgalH1537, he and 6allH3605 the peopleH5971 of warH4421 with him, and allH3605 the valiantH2428 warriorsH1368. 8And the LordH3068 saidH559 to JoshuaH3091, “7Do not fearH3372 them, for I have handedH5414H3027 them overH5414 to you; not 8oneH376 of them will standH5975 againstH6440 you.” 9So JoshuaH3091 cameH935 upon them suddenlyH6597 9by marchingH5927 allH3605 nightH3915 from GilgalH1537. 1010And the LordH3068 broughtH2000 them intoH2000 confusionH2000 beforeH6440 IsraelH3478, and He struckH5221 them downH5221 in a greatH1419 defeatH4347 at GibeonH1391, and pursuedH7291 them by the wayH1870 of the ascentH4608 to Beth-horonH1032 and struckH5221 them as farH5704 as AzekahH5825 and MakkedahH4719. 11And as they fledH5127 from IsraelH3478, while they were at the descentH4174 of Beth-horonH1032, 11the LordH3068 hurledH7993 largeH1419 stonesH68 from heavenH8064 on them as farH5704 as AzekahH5825, and they diedH4191; there were moreH7227 whoH834 diedH4191 12from the hailstonesH1259H68 thanH4480 those whomH834 the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478 killedH2026 with the swordH2719.
12ThenH227 JoshuaH3091 spokeH1696 to the LordH3068 on the dayH3117 when the LordH3068 turnedH5414 the AmoritesH567 overH5414 to the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478, and he saidH559 in the sightH5869 of IsraelH3478, “13SunH8121, standH1826 stillH1826 at GibeonH1391, And moonH3394, at the ValleyH6010 of AijalonH357!”1314So the sunH8121 stoodH1826 stillH1826, and the moonH3394 stoppedH5975, UntilH5704 the nationH1471 avengedH5358 themselves of their enemiesH340. Is it not writtenH3789 in 15the BookH5612 of JasharH3477? And 16the sunH8121 stoppedH5975 in the middleH2677 of the skyH8064 and did not hurryH213 to goH935 down for aboutH935 a wholeH8549 dayH3117. 14There was noH3808 dayH3117 like that beforeH6440 it or afterH310 it, when the LordH3068 listenedH8085 to the voiceH6963 of a manH376; for 17the LordH3068 foughtH3898 for IsraelH3478.
15Then JoshuaH3091 and allH3605 IsraelH3478 with him returnedH7725 to the campH4264 18at GilgalH1537.
16Now theseH428 19fiveH2568 kingsH4428 had fledH5127 and hiddenH2244 themselves in the caveH4631 at MakkedahH4719. 17And it was toldH5046 to JoshuaH3091, sayingH559, “The fiveH2568 kingsH4428 have been foundH4672 hiddenH2244 in the caveH4631 at MakkedahH4719.” 18So JoshuaH3091 saidH559, “RollH1556 largeH1419 stonesH68 againstH413 the mouthH6310 of the caveH4631, and postH6485 menH376 by it to guardH8104 them, 19but do not stayH5975 there yourselvesH864; pursueH7291 your enemiesH340 and 20attackH2179 them fromH2179 behindH2179. Do not allowH5414 them to enterH935 their citiesH5892, for the LordH3068 your GodH430 has handedH3027H5414 them overH5414 to you.” 20It cameH1961 aboutH1961 when JoshuaH3091 and the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478 had finishedH3615 strikingH5221 them downH5221 in a veryH3966 greatH1419 defeatH4347, 21untilH5704 they were destroyedH8552, and the survivorsH8300 of them who escapedH8277 22had enteredH935 the fortifiedH4013 citiesH5892, 21that allH3605 the peopleH5971 returnedH7725 to the campH4264, to JoshuaH3091 at MakkedahH4719 in peaceH7965. NoH3808 one 23utteredH2782 a wordH3956 against any of the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478.
22Then JoshuaH3091 saidH559, “OpenH6605 the mouthH6310 of the caveH4631 and bringH3318 theseH428 fiveH2568 kingsH4428 outH3318 to me from the caveH4631.” 23They didH6213 soH3651, and 24broughtH3318 theseH428 fiveH2568 kingsH4428 outH3318 to him from the caveH4631: the kingH4428 of JerusalemH3389, the kingH4428 of HebronH2275, the kingH4428 of JarmuthH3412, the kingH4428 of LachishH3923, and the kingH4428 of EglonH5700. 24When they broughtH3318 theseH428 kingsH4428 outH3318 to JoshuaH3091, JoshuaH3091 calledH7121 for allH3605 the menH376 of IsraelH3478, and saidH559 to the leadersH7101 of the menH376 of warH4421 who had goneH1980 with him, “ComeH7126 forwardH7126, 25putH7760 your feetH7272 on the necksH6677 of theseH428 kingsH4428.” So they cameH7126 forwardH7126 and putH7760 their feetH7272 on their necksH6677.
