2He has drivenנָהַ֛גna.HagH5090me and made me walkוַיֹּלַ֖ךְvai.yo.LakhH1980Indarknessחֹ֥שֶׁךְCho.shekhH2822and not in lightאֽוֹר׃'orH216.

3Indeedאַ֣ךְ'akhH389, He hasturnedיַהֲפֹ֥ךְya.ha.FokhH2015His handיָד֖וֹya.DoH3027against meRepeatedlyיָשֻׁ֛בya.ShuvH7725allכָּל־kol-H3605the dayהַיּֽוֹם׃ סhai.YomH3117.

4He has consumedבִּלָּ֤הbi.LahH1086myfleshבְשָׂרִי֙ve.sa.RiH1320and my skinוְעוֹרִ֔יve.'o.RiH5785, He hasbrokenשִׁבַּ֖רshi.BarH7665my bonesעַצְמוֹתָֽי׃atz.mo.TaiH6106.

5He hasbesiegedבָּנָ֥ה עָלַ֛יba.Nah 'a.LaiH1129 H5921and surroundedוַיַּקַּ֖ףvai.ya.KafH5362me withbitternessרֹ֥אשׁroshH7219and hardshipוּתְלָאָֽה׃u.te.la.'AhH8513.

6He has made me liveהוֹשִׁיבַ֖נִיho.shi.Va.niH3427indarkבְּמַחֲשַׁכִּ֥יםbe.ma.cha.sha.KimH4285placesH4285,Like those who have longעוֹלָֽם׃ סo.LamH5769been deadכְּמֵתֵ֥יke.me.TeiH4191.

17My soulנַפְשִׁ֖יnaf.ShiH5315has beenH2186excludedH2186from peaceמִשָּׁל֛וֹםmi.sha.LomH7965;I have forgottenנָשִׁ֥יתִיna.Shi.tiH5382happinessH2899.

18So I sayוָאֹמַר֙va.'o.MarH559, “Mystrengthנִצְחִ֔יnitz.ChiH5331has failedאָבַ֣ד'a.VadH6, And so has myhopeוְתוֹחַלְתִּ֖יve.to.chal.TiH8431from the Lordמֵיְהוָֽה׃ סme.Yah.wehH3068.”

19Rememberזְכָר־ze.khor-H2142my miseryעָנְיִ֥י'a.ne.YiH6040and my homelessnessוּמְרוּדִ֖יu.me.ru.DiH4788, thewormwoodלַעֲנָ֥הla.'a.NahH3939andbitternessוָרֹֽאשׁ׃va.RoshH7219.

20My soulנַפְשִֽׁי׃naf.ShiH5315certainlyזָכ֣וֹרza.KhorH2142remembersתִּזְכּ֔וֹרtiz.KorH2142, And isbentH7817overH7817withinעָלַ֖י'a.LaiH5921me.

21I recallאָשִׁ֥יב'a.ShivH7725thisH2088to my mindלִבִּ֖יli.BiH3820,Thereforeעַל־ כֵּ֥ן'al- kenH5921 H3651Iwaitאוֹחִֽיל׃ ס'o.ChilH3176.

22The Lord’sיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068actsH2617ofH2617mercyH2617indeedH3588do not endתָ֔מְנוּTa.me.nuH8552,For His compassionsרַחֲמָֽיו׃ra.cha.MavH7356do not failכָל֖וּkha.LuH3615.

23Theyare newחֲדָשִׁים֙cha.da.ShimH2319every morningלַבְּקָרִ֔יםla.be.ka.RimH1242;Greatרַבָּ֖הra.BahH7227isYour faithfulnessאֱמוּנָתֶֽךָ׃'e.mu.na.Te.khaH530.

24“The Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068is myportionחֶלְקִ֤יchel.KiH2506,”saysאָמְרָ֣ה'a.me.RahH559my soulנַפְשִׁ֔יnaf.ShiH5315, “Thereforeעַל־ כֵּ֖ן'al- kenH5921 H3651Iwaitאוֹחִ֥יל'o.ChilH3176for Him.”

25The Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068is goodט֤וֹבTovH2896to those whoawaitלְקוָֹ֔יוle.ko.VavH6960Him, To thepersonלְנֶ֖פֶשׁle.Ne.feshH5315whoseeksתִּדְרְשֶֽׁנּוּ׃tid.re.She.nuH1875Him.

26It isgoodט֤וֹבTovH2896that hewaitsוְיָחִיל֙ve.ya.ChilH3175silentlyוְדוּמָ֔םve.du.MamH1748For the salvationלִתְשׁוּעַ֖תlit.shu.'AtH8668of the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

31For the Lordאֲדֹנָֽי׃'a.do.NaiH136willnot rejectיִזְנַ֛חyiz.NachH2186foreverלְעוֹלָ֖םle.'o.LamH5769,

32For ifאִם־'im-H518He causesH3013griefהוֹגָ֔הho.GahH3013,Then He will haveH7355compassionוְרִחַ֖םve.ri.ChamH7355In proportion to His abundantכְּרֹ֥בke.RoH7230mercyחֲסָדָֽיו׃chas.dovH2617.
