21Then I proclaimedוָאֶקְרָ֨אva.'ek.Ra'H7121a fastצוֹם֙tzOmH6685thereשָׁ֥םshamH8033atthe riverהַנָּהָ֣רha.na.HarH5104of Ahavaאַהֲוָ֔א'a.ha.Va'H163, tohumbleלְהִתְעַנּ֖וֹתle.hit.'a.NotH6031ourselves beforeלִפְנֵ֣יlif.NeiH6440our Godאֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ'e.lo.Hei.nuH430,to seekלְבַקֵּ֤שׁle.va.KeshH1245from Him asafeיְשָׁרָ֔הye.sha.RahH3477journeyדֶּ֣רֶךְDe.rekhH1870for us, our littleוּלְטַפֵּ֖נוּu.le.ta.Pe.nuH2945onesH2945,and allוּלְכָל־u.le.khol-H3605our possessionsרְכוּשֵֽׁנוּ׃re.khu.She.nuH7399.

22For I wasH954ashamedבֹ֗שְׁתִּיVo.she.tiH954to requestלִשְׁא֤וֹלlish.'olH7592from the kingהַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ha.Me.lekhH4428troopsחַ֣יִלCha.yilH2428and horsemenוּפָרָשִׁ֔יםu.fa.ra.ShimH6571toprotectלְעָזְרֵ֥נוּle.'a.ze.Re.nuH5826us from the enemyH340on the wayבַּדָּ֑רֶךְba.Da.rekhH1870,becauseH3588we had saidH559to the kingלַמֶּ֜לֶךְla.Me.lekhH4428, “The handיַד־yad-H3027of our Godאֱלֹהֵ֤ינוּ'e.lo.Hei.nuH430isfavorablyH2899disposedH2899to allכָּל־kol-H3605who seekמְבַקְשָׁיו֙me.vak.ShavH1245Him, butHis powerוְעֻזּ֣וֹve.'u.ZoH5797and His angerוְאַפּ֔וֹve.'a.PoH639are againstH5921allכָּל־kol-H3605those whoabandonעֹזְבָֽיו׃'o.ze.VavH5800Him.”

23So we fastedוַנָּצ֛וּמָהva.na.Tzu.mahH6684and soughtוַנְּבַקְשָׁ֥הva.ne.vak.ShahH1245our Godמֵאֱלֹהֵ֖ינוּme.'e.lo.Hei.nuH430concerningעַל־'al-H5921thisH2088matter, and HelistenedH6279toH6279our pleadingH6279.

24Then I selectedוָאַבְדִּ֛ילָהva.'av.Di.lahH914twelveשְׁנֵ֣ים עָשָׂ֑רshe.Neim 'a.SarH8147 H6240of the leadingמִשָּׂרֵ֥יmi.sa.ReiH8269priestsהַכֹּהֲנִ֖יםha.ko.ha.NimH3548:Sherebiahלְשֵׁרֵֽבְיָ֣הle.she.re.ve.YahH8274,Hashabiahחֲשַׁבְיָ֔הcha.shav.YahH2811,and with them tenעֲשָׂרָֽה׃'a.sa.RahH6235of their brothersמֵאֲחֵיהֶ֖םme.'a.chei.HemH251;
