Revelation 6:3-11

3When He broke the second seal, I heard the 1second living creature saying, “Come2!” 4And another, 3a red horse, went out; and to him who sat on it, it was granted to 4take peace from the earth, and that people would kill one another; and a large sword was given to him.

5When He broke the third seal, I heard the 5third living creature saying, “Come6!” I looked, and behold, a 7black horse, and the one who sat on it had a 8pair of scales in his hand. 6And I heard something like a voice in the center of the 9four living creatures saying, “A 10quart of wheat for a 11denarius, and three 12quarts of barley for a 13denarius; and 14do not damage the oil and the wine.”

7When the Lamb broke the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the 15fourth living creature saying, “Come16!” 8I looked, and behold, 17an 18ashen horse; and the one who sat on it had the name 19Death, and 20Hades was following with him. Authority was given to them over a fourth of the earth, 21to kill with sword, and famine, and 22plague, and by the wild animals of the earth.

9When the Lamb broke the fifth seal, I saw 23underneath the 24altar the 25souls of those who had been killed 26because of the word of God, and because of the 27testimony which they had maintained; 10and they cried out with a loud voice, saying, “28How long, O 29 30Lord, 31holy and true, 32will You refrain from 33judging and avenging our blood on 34those who live on the earth?” 11And a 35white robe was given to each of them; and they were told that they were to 36rest for a little while longer, 37until the number of their fellow servants and their brothers and sisters who were to be killed even as they had been, was 38completed also.
