Revelation 1:6-18

6and He made us into a 1kingdom, 2priests to 34His God and Father--5to Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. 76Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and 7every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will 8mourn over Him. 9So it is to be. Amen.

8“I am 10the Alpha and the Omega,” says the 11Lord God, “12who is and who was and who 13is to come, the Almighty.”

914I, John, your 15brother and 16fellow participant in the tribulation and 17kingdom and 1819perseverance in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos 20because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus. 10I was 21in the 22Spirit on 23the Lord’s day, and I heard behind me a loud voice 24like the sound of a trumpet, 11saying, “25Write 26on a scroll what you see, and send it to the 27seven churches: to 28Ephesus, 29Smyrna, 30Pergamum, 31Thyatira, 32Sardis, 33Philadelphia, and 34Laodicea.”

12Then I turned to see the voice that was speaking with me. And after turning I saw 35seven golden lampstands; 13and 36in the middle of the lampstands I saw one 37like 38a son of man, 39clothed in a robe reaching to the feet, and 40wrapped around the chest with a golden sash. 14His head and His 41hair were white like white wool, like snow; and 42His eyes were like a flame of fire. 15His 43feet were like 44burnished bronze when it has been heated to a glow in a furnace, and His 45voice was like the sound of many waters. 16In His right hand He held 46seven stars, and out of His mouth came a 47sharp two-edged sword; and His 48face was like 49the sun 50shining in its strength.

17When I saw Him, I 51fell at His feet like a dead man. And He 52placed His right hand on me, saying, “53Do not be afraid; 54I am the first and the last, 18and the 55living One; and I 5657was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have 58the keys of death and of Hades.
