Context of Leviticus 26:11
9So I will turn toward you and make you fruitful and multiply you, and I will confirm My covenant with you. 10And you will eat the old supply, and clear out the old because of the new. Moreover, I will make My dwelling among you, and My soul will not reject you. 12I will also walk among you and be your God, and you shall be My people. 13I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt so that you would not be their slaves, and I broke your yoke and made you walk erect.

Commentaries on Leviticus 26:11
- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 11I will set my tabernacle among you - This and the following verse contain the grand promise of the Gospel dispensation, viz. the presence, manifestation, and indwelling of God in human nature, and his constant in dwelling in the souls of his followers. So John 1:14; the Word was made flesh, ̔, and Made His Tabernacle among us. And to this promise of the law St. Paul evidently refers, 2 Corinthians 6:16-18; and 2 Corinthians 7:1;Read the comment
- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 3-45Verses 3-45 As “the book of the covenant” Exodus 23:20-33, so does this collection of laws contained in the Book of Leviticus. But the former passage relates to the conquest of the land of promise, this one to the subsequent history of the nation. The longer similar passage in Deuteronomy Leviticus 26:4 Rain in due season - The periodical rains, on which the fertility of the holy land so much depends, are here spoken of. There are two wet seasons, called…Read the comment

In these treaties, the suzerain king promised to protect the vassal king and his land. In return, the vassal swore loyalty to the suzerain. Blessings and curses followed, with curses usually being longer (compare Leviticus 26:3–13 with 26:14–39; see also Deuteronomy 27:15–28:68). These treaties often…Read the comment

If ye walk in my statutes--In that covenant into which God graciously entered with the people of Israel, He promised to bestow upon them a variety of blessings, so long as they continued obedient to Him as their Almighty Ruler; and in their subsequent history that people found every promise amply fulfilled, in the enjoyment of plenty, peace, a populous country, and victory over all enemies.Read the comment
