Jude 1:3-16

31Beloved, while I was making every effort to write you about our 2common salvation, I felt the necessity to write to you appealing that you 3contend earnestly for 4the faith that was once for all time 5handed down to 6the 7saints. 4For certain people have 8crept in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand 910marked out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who turn 11the grace of our God into 12indecent behavior and 13deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

5Now I want to 14remind you, though 15you know everything once and for all, that 16the Lord, 17after saving a people out of the land of Egypt, 18subsequently destroyed those who did not believe. 6And 19angels who did not keep their own domain but abandoned their proper dwelling place, these He has 20kept in eternal restraints under darkness for the judgment of the great day, 7just as 21Sodom and Gomorrah and the 22cities around them, since they in the same way as these angels indulged in sexual perversion and 23went after 24strange flesh, are exhibited as an 2526example in undergoing the 27punishment of eternal fire.

8Yet in the same way these people also, dreaming, 28defile the flesh, reject authority, and speak abusively of angelic 29majesties. 9But 30Michael 31the archangel, when he disputed with the devil and argued about 32the body of Moses, did not dare pronounce against him an abusive judgment, but said, “33The Lord rebuke you!” 10But 34these people disparage all the things that they do not understand; and 35all the things that they know by instinct, 36like unreasoning animals, by these things they are destroyed. 11Woe to them! For they have gone 37the way of Cain, and for pay 38they have given themselves up to 39the error of Balaam, and 40perished in the rebellion of Korah. 12These are the ones who are 41hidden reefs 42in your love feasts when they feast with you 43without fear, like shepherds caring only for themselves; 44clouds without water, 45carried along by winds; autumn trees without fruit, 46doubly dead, 47uprooted; 1348wild waves of the sea, churning up 49their own shameful deeds like dirty foam; wandering stars, 50for whom the 51gloom of darkness has been reserved forever.

14It was also about these people that 52Enoch, in the seventh generation from Adam, prophesied, saying, “53Behold, the Lord has come with 54many thousands of His holy ones, 1555to execute judgment upon all, and to convict all the ungodly of all their ungodly deeds which they have done in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which 56ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.” 16These are 57grumblers, finding fault, 58following after their own lusts; 59they speak 60arrogantly, flattering people 61for the sake of gaining an advantage.
