John 1:43-51

431The next day He 2decided to go to 3Galilee, and He found 4Philip. And Jesus said to him, “5Follow Me.”

44Now 6Philip was from 7Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.

458Philip found 9Nathanael and said to him, “We have found Him of whom 10Moses wrote in the Law, and 11the prophets also wrote: Jesus 12the son of Joseph, from 13Nazareth!”

46Nathanael said to him, “14Can anything good be from Nazareth?” 15Philip said to him, “Come and see.”

47Jesus saw Nathanael coming to Him, and said of him, “Here is truly an 16Israelite, in whom there is no deceit!”

48Nathanael said to Him, “How do You know me?” Jesus answered and said to him, “Before 17Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.”

49Nathanael answered Him, “18Rabbi, You are 19the Son of God; You are the 20King of Israel!”

50Jesus answered and said to him, “Because I said to you that I saw you under the fig tree, do you believe? You will see greater things than these.”

51And He said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, you will see 21heaven opened and 22the angels of God ascending and descending on 23the Son of Man.”
