John 1:43-51

431The next day He purposed to go into 2Galilee, and He found 3Philip. And Jesus said to him, “4Follow Me.”

44Now 5Philip was from 6Bethsaida, of the city of Andrew and Peter.

457Philip found 8Nathanael and said to him, “We have found Him of whom 9Moses in the Law and also 10the Prophets wrote--Jesus of 11Nazareth, 12the son of Joseph.”

46Nathanael said to him, “13Can any good thing come out of Nazareth?” 14Philip said to him, “Come and see.”

47Jesus saw Nathanael coming to Him, and said of him, “Behold, an 15Israelite indeed, in whom there is no deceit!”

48Nathanael said to Him, “How do You know me?” Jesus answered and said to him, “Before 16Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.”

49Nathanael answered Him, “17Rabbi, You are 18the Son of God; You are the 19King of Israel.”

50Jesus answered and said to him, “Because I said to you that I saw you under the fig tree, do you believe? You will see greater things than these.”

51And He said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, you will see 20the heavens opened and 21the angels of God ascending and descending on 22the Son of Man.”
