Job 9:25-35
25“Now 1my days are swifter than a runner; They flee away, 2they see no good.26They slip by like 3reed boats, Like an 4eagle that swoops on 5its prey.27Though I say, ‘I will forget 6my complaint, I will 7put my face in order and be cheerful,’28I am 8afraid of all my pains, I know that 9You will not acquit me.29I am 10guilty, Why then should I struggle in vain?30If I 11washed myself with snow, And cleansed 12my hands with lye,31Then You would plunge me into the pit, And my own clothes would loathe me.32For 13He is not a man, as I am, that 14I may answer Him-- That we may go to 15court together!33There is no 16arbitrator between us, Who can place his hand upon us both.34Let Him 17remove His rod from me, And let not the dread of Him terrify me.35Then I 18would speak and not fear Him; But I am not like that in myself.
