James 4:11-17

111Do not speak against one another, 2brothers and sisters. The one who speaks against a brother or sister, or 3judges his brother or sister, speaks against 4the law and judges the law; but if you judge the law, you are not 5a doer of the law but a judge of it. 12There is only one 6Lawgiver and Judge, the One who is 7able to save and to destroy; but 8who are you, 9judging your neighbor?

1310Come now, you who say, “11Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, and spend a year there and engage in business and make a profit.” 1412Yet you do not know 13what your life will be like tomorrow. 14For you are just a vapor that appears for a little while, and then vanishes away. 1515Instead, you ought to say, “16If the Lord wills, we will live and also do this or that.” 16But as it is, you boast in your 17arrogance; 18all such boasting is evil. 17So 19for one who knows the 20right thing to do and does not do it, for him it is sin.
