James 4:11-17
111Do not speak against one another, 2brethren. He who speaks against a brother or 3judges his brother, speaks against 4the law and judges the law; but if you judge the law, you are not 5a doer of the law but a judge of it. 12There is only one 6Lawgiver and Judge, the One who is 7able to save and to destroy; but 8who are you who judge your neighbor?
139Come now, you who say, “10Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, and spend a year there and engage in business and make a profit.” 1411Yet you do not know 12what your life will be like tomorrow. 13You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. 1514Instead, you ought to say, “15If the Lord wills, we will live and also do this or that.” 16But as it is, you boast in your 16arrogance; 17all such boasting is evil. 17Therefore, 18to one who knows the 19right thing to do and does not do it, to him it is sin.
