James 3:13-18

Who among you is wise and understanding? 1Let him show by his 2good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom.

But if you have bitter 3jealousy and 4selfish ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and so lie against 5the truth.

This wisdom is not that which comes down 6from above, but is 7earthly, 8 9natural, 10demonic.

For where 11jealousy and 12selfish ambition exist, 13there is disorder and every evil thing.

But the wisdom 14from above is first 15pure, then 16peace-loving, 17gentle, 18reasonable, 19full of mercy and good fruits, 20 21impartial, free of 22hypocrisy.

And the 23fruit of righteousness is sown in peace 24by those who make peace.
