James 3:11-18
11Does a spring send out from the same opening both 1fresh and bitter water? 122Can a fig tree, my brothers and sisters, bear olives, or a vine bear figs? Nor can salt water produce 3fresh.
13Who among you is wise and understanding? 4Let him show by his 5good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom. 14But if you have bitter 6jealousy and 7selfish ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and so lie against 8the truth. 15This wisdom is not that which comes down 9from above, but is 10earthly, 1112natural, 13demonic. 16For where 14jealousy and 15selfish ambition exist, 16there is disorder and every evil thing. 17But the wisdom 17from above is first 18pure, then 19peace-loving, 20gentle, 21reasonable, 22full of mercy and good fruits, 2324impartial, free of 25hypocrisy. 18And the 26fruit of righteousness is sown in peace 27by those who make peace.
