Galatians 3:17-21

17What I am saying is this: the Law, which came 1430 years later, does not invalidate a covenant previously ratified by God, so as to nullify the promise. 18For 2if the inheritance is 3based on law, it is no longer 4based on a promise; but 5God has granted it to Abraham by means of a promise.

196Why the Law then? It was added on account of the 7violations, having been 8ordered through angels 9at the hand of a 10mediator, until 11the Seed would come to whom the promise had been made. 20Now 12a mediator is not 13for one party only; but God is only one. 21Is the Law then contrary to the promises of God? 1415Far from it! For 16if a law had been given that was able to impart life, then righteousness 17would indeed have been 18based on law.
