Ezekiel 32:1-16
1In the 1twelfth year, in the twelfth month, on the first of the month, the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 2“Son of man, take up a 2song of mourning over Pharaoh king of Egypt, and say to him, ‘You 3compared yourself to a young 4lion of the nations, Yet you are like the 5monster in the seas; And you 6burst forth in your rivers And muddied the waters with your feet And 7fouled their rivers.’”
3This is what the Lord 8God says: “Now I will 9spread My net over you With a contingent of many peoples, And they will lift you up in My net.4I will leave you on the land; I will hurl you on the 10open field. And I will cause all the 11birds of the sky to 12nest on you, And I will satisfy the animals of the whole earth 13with you.5I will lay your flesh 14on the mountains And fill the valleys with your refuse.6I will also make the land drink the discharge of your 15blood As far as the mountains, And the ravines will be full of you.7And when I 16extinguish you, I will 17cover the heavens and darken their 18stars; I will cover the 19sun with a cloud And the moon will not give its light.8All the shining 20lights in the heavens I will darken over you And will set darkness on your land,” Declares the Lord God. 9“I will also 21trouble the hearts of many peoples when I 22bring your destruction among the nations, into lands which you have not known. 10And I will make many peoples 23appalled at you, and their kings will be horribly afraid of you when I brandish My sword before them; and 24they will tremble again and again, every person for his own life, on the day of your fall.”
11For 25the Lord God says 26this: “The sword of the king of Babylon will 27attack you. 12By the swords of the warriors I will make your multitude fall; all of them are 28tyrants of the nations, And they will 29devastate the pride of Egypt, And all its multitude will be destroyed.13I will also eliminate all its cattle from beside many waters; And 30a human foot will not muddy them anymore, And the hoofs of animals will not muddy them.14Then I will make their waters settle, And make their rivers run like oil,” Declares the Lord God.15“When I make the land of Egypt a 31desolation, And the land is destitute of that which filled it, When I strike all those who live in it, Then they shall 32know that I am the Lord. 16This is a 33song of mourning, and they shall sing it. The daughters of the nations shall sing it. Over Egypt and over all her hordes they shall sing it,” declares the Lord God.
