Exodus 31:11-18
111the anointing oil also, and the 2fragrant incense for the Holy Place, they are to make them according to everything that I have commanded you.”
12Now the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 13“Now as for you, speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘3You must keep My Sabbaths; for this is 4a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, so that you may know that I am the Lord who sanctifies you. 14Therefore you are to keep the Sabbath, for it is holy to you. 5Everyone who profanes it must be put to death; for whoever does any work on it, that person shall be cut off from among his people. 156For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day there is a 7Sabbath of complete rest, holy to the Lord; 8whoever does any work on the Sabbath day must be put to death. 16So the sons of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to 9celebrate the Sabbath throughout their generations as a permanent covenant.’ 1710It is a sign between Me and the sons of Israel forever; 11for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, but on the seventh day He ceased from labor, and was refreshed.”
18When He had finished speaking with him on Mount Sinai, He gave Moses 12the two tablets of the testimony, tablets of stone, 13written by the finger of God.
