Deuteronomy 4:27-31

27The Lord will 1scatter you among the peoples, and you will be left few in number among the nations where the Lord drives you. 28 2There you will serve gods, the work of human hands, 3wood and stone, 4which neither see nor hear, nor eat nor smell anything. 29 5But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you search for Him 6with all your heart and all your soul. 30When you 7are in distress and all these things happen to you, 8in the latter days 9you will return to the Lord your God and listen to His voice. 31For the Lord your God is a 10compassionate God; 11He will not abandon you nor 12destroy you, nor 13forget the covenant with your fathers which He swore to them.
