Deuteronomy 17:5-8

5then you are to bring out to your gates that man or woman who has done this evil deed, that is, the man or the woman, and 1you shall stone them to 2death. 63On the 4testimony of two witnesses or three witnesses, the 5condemned shall be put to death; he shall not be put to death on the 6testimony of only one witness. 77The hands of the witnesses shall be first against him to put him to death, and afterward the hands of all the people. 8So you shall eliminate the evil from your midst.

8“9If a case is too difficult for you to decide, between 10one kind of homicide or another, between 11one kind of lawsuit or another, and between 12one kind of assault or another, that are cases of dispute in your 13courts, then you shall arise and go up to 14the place which the Lord your God chooses.
