Acts 14:15-28
15and saying, “Men, why are you doing these things? We are also 1men, of the same nature as you, 2preaching the gospel to you, to turn from these 34useless things to a 5living God, who 6made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and everything that is in them. 167In past generations He 8permitted all the 9nations to 10go their own ways; 17yet 11He did not leave Himself without witness, in that He did good and 12gave you rains from heaven and fruitful seasons, 13satisfying your hearts with food and gladness.” 18And even by saying these things, only with difficulty did they restrain the crowds from offering sacrifices to them.
19But 14Jews came from 15Antioch and 16Iconium, and having won over the crowds, they 17stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city, thinking that he was dead. 20But while 18the disciples stood around him, he got up and entered the city. The next day he left with Barnabas for 19Derbe. 21And after they had 20preached the gospel to that city and had 21made a good number of disciples, they returned to 22Lystra, to 23Iconium, and to 24Antioch, 22strengthening the souls of 25the disciples, encouraging them to continue in 26the faith, and saying, “27It is through many tribulations that we must enter the kingdom of God.” 23When 28they had appointed 29elders for them in every church, having 30prayed with fasting, they 31entrusted them to the Lord in whom they had believed.
24They passed through 32Pisidia and came into 33Pamphylia. 25When they had spoken the word in 34Perga, they went down to Attalia. 26From there they sailed to 35Antioch, 36where they had been 37entrusted to the grace of God for the work that they had 38accomplished. 27When they had arrived and gathered the church together, they began to 39report all the things that God had done with them and 40how He had opened a 41door of faith to the Gentiles. 28And they spent 42a long time with 43the disciples.
