2 Timothy 2:17-22

17and their 1talk will spread like 2gangrene. Among them are 3Hymenaeus and Philetus, 18men who have gone astray from the truth, claiming that 4the resurrection has already taken place; and they are jeopardizing 5the faith of some. 19Nevertheless, the 6firm foundation of God stands, having this 7seal: “8The Lord knows those who are His;” and, “9Everyone who names the name of the Lord is to keep away from wickedness.”

20Now in a large house there are not only gold and silver implements, but also implements of wood and of earthenware, and 10some are for honor while others are for dishonor. 21Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from 11these things, he will be an implement for honor, sanctified, useful to the Master, 12prepared for every good work. 22Now 13flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, 14faith, love, and peace with those who 15call on the Lord 16from a pure heart.
