2 Thessalonians 2:6-17

6And you know 1what restrains him now, so that he will be revealed in his time. 7For 2the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only 3 4He who now restrains will do so until 5He is 6removed. 8Then that lawless one 7will be revealed, whom the Lord will eliminate 8with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the 9appearance of His 10coming; 9that is, the one whose 11coming is in accord with the activity of 12Satan, with all power and false 13 14signs and wonders, 10and with 15all the deception of wickedness for 16those who perish, because they did not accept the love of 17the truth so as to be saved. 11For this reason 18God 19will send upon them 20a 21deluding influence so that they will believe 22what is false, 12in order that they all may be 23judged who 24did not believe the truth, but 25 26took pleasure in wickedness.

13 27But we should always give thanks to God for you, 28brothers and sisters beloved by the Lord, because 29God has chosen you 30from the beginning 31for salvation 32 33through sanctification 34by the Spirit and faith in the truth. 14It was for this He 35called you through 36our gospel, 37that you may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 15So then, brothers and sisters, 38stand firm and 39hold on to the traditions which you were taught, whether 40by word of mouth or 41by letter 42from us.

16 43Now may our Lord Jesus Christ 44Himself and God our Father, who has 45loved us and given us eternal comfort and 46good hope by grace, 17 47comfort and 48strengthen your hearts in every good work and word.
