2 Thessalonians 2:6-17

6And you know 1what restrains him now, so that in his time he will be revealed. 7For 2the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only 3he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way. 8Then that lawless one 4will be revealed whom the Lord will slay 5with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the 6appearance of His 7coming; 9that is, the one whose 8coming is in accord with the activity of 9Satan, with all power and 10 11signs and false wonders, 10and with 12all the deception of wickedness for 13those who perish, because they did not receive the love of 14the truth so as to be saved. 11For this reason 15God 16will send upon them 17a 18deluding influence so that they will believe 19what is false, 12in order that they all may be 20judged who 21did not believe the truth, but 22 23took pleasure in wickedness.

13 24But we should always give thanks to God for you, 25brethren beloved by the Lord, because 26God has chosen you 27from the beginning 28for salvation 29 30through sanctification 31by the Spirit and faith in the truth. 14It was for this He 32called you through 33our gospel, 34that you may gain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 15So then, brethren, 35stand firm and 36hold to the traditions which you were taught, whether 37by word of mouth or 38by letter 39from us.

16 40Now may our Lord Jesus Christ 41Himself and God our Father, who has 42loved us and given us eternal comfort and 43good hope by grace, 17 44comfort and 45strengthen your hearts in every good work and word.
