2 Thessalonians 2:1-10

1Now we ask you, 1brothers and sisters, regarding the 2 3coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our 4gathering together to Him,

2that you not be quickly shaken from your 5composure or be disturbed either by a 6spirit, or a 7 8message, or a 9letter as if from us, to the effect that 10the day of the Lord 11has come.

3 12No one is to deceive you in any way! For it will not come unless the 13 14apostasy comes first, and the 15man of lawlessness is revealed, the 16son of destruction,

4who opposes and exalts himself above 17 18every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, 19displaying himself as being God.

5Do you not remember that 20while I was still with you, I was telling you these things?

6And you know 21what restrains him now, so that he will be revealed in his time.

7For 22the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only 23 24He who now restrains will do so until 25He is 26removed.

8Then that lawless one 27will be revealed, whom the Lord will eliminate 28with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the 29appearance of His 30coming;

9that is, the one whose 31coming is in accord with the activity of 32Satan, with all power and false 33 34signs and wonders,

10and with 35all the deception of wickedness for 36those who perish, because they did not accept the love of 37the truth so as to be saved.
