2 Peter 3:3-7

3 1Know this first of all, that 2in the last days 3mockers will come with their mocking, 4following after their own lusts, 4and saying, “5Where is the promise of His 6coming? For ever since the fathers 7 8fell asleep, all things continue just as they were 9from the beginning of creation.” 5For 10when they maintain this, it escapes their notice that 11by the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was 12formed out of water and by water, 6through which 13the world at that time was 14destroyed by being flooded with water. 7But by His word 15the present heavens and earth are being reserved for 16fire, kept for 17the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly people.
