2 Peter 3:3-7

31Know this first of all, that 2in the last days 3mockers will come with their mocking, 4following after their own lusts, 4and saying, “5Where is the promise of His 6coming? For ever since the fathers 7fell asleep, all continues just as it was 8from the beginning of creation.” 5For 9when they maintain this, it escapes their notice that 10by the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was 11formed out of water and by water, 6through which 12the world at that time was 13destroyed, being flooded with water. 7But by His word 14the present heavens and earth are being reserved for 15fire, kept for 16the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.
