2 Peter 2:4-9

4For 1if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into 2hell and 3committed them to 4pits of darkness, held for judgment;

5and did not spare 5the ancient world, but protected 6Noah, a 7preacher of righteousness, with seven others, when He brought a 8flood upon the world of the ungodly;

6and if He 9condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to destruction by reducing them to ashes, having made them an 10example 11of what is coming for the 12ungodly;

7and if He 13rescued righteous Lot, who was oppressed by the 14perverted conduct of 15 16unscrupulous people

8(for by what he saw and heard that 17righteous man, while living among them, felt his righteous soul tormented day after day by their lawless deeds),

9 18then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from 19a trial, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the 20day of judgment,
