1 Timothy 3:8-13

81Deacons likewise must be men of dignity, not 2insincere, 3not prone to drink much wine, 4not greedy for money, 95but holding to the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience. 106These men must also first be tested; then have them serve as deacons if they are beyond reproach. 117Women must likewise be dignified, 8not malicious gossips, but 910temperate, faithful in all things. 1211Deacons must be 12husbands of one wife, and 1314good managers of their children and their own households. 13For those who have served well as deacons 15obtain for themselves a 16high standing and great confidence in the faith that is in Christ Jesus.
