1 Timothy 1:5-11

5But the goal of our 1 2instruction is love 3from a pure heart, from a 4good conscience, and from a sincere 5faith. 6Some people have strayed from these things and have turned aside to 6fruitless discussion, 7 7wanting to be 8teachers of the Law, even though they do not understand either what they are saying or the matters about which they make confident assertions.

8But we know that 9the Law is good, if one uses it lawfully, 9realizing the fact that 10law is not made for a righteous person but for those who are lawless and 11rebellious, for the 12ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and 13worldly, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, 10for the 14 15sexually immoral, 16homosexuals, 17 18slave traders, 19liars, 20perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to 21sound teaching, 11according to 22the glorious gospel of 23the blessed God, with which I have been 24entrusted.
