1 Thessalonians 2:2-6
2but after we had already suffered and been 1treated abusively in 2Philippi, as you know, we had the boldness in our God 3to speak to you the 4gospel of God 5amid much 67opposition.
3For our 8exhortation does not come from 9error or 10impurity or 11by way of 12deceit;
413but just as we have been approved by God to be 14entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, 15not intending to please people, but to please God, who 1617examines our hearts.
5For we never came 18with flattering speech, as you know, nor with 19a pretext 20for greed--21God is our witness--
6nor did we 22seek honor from people, either from you or from others, though 23we could have 24asserted our authority as 25apostles of Christ.
