1 Thessalonians 2:2-6
2but after we had already suffered and been 1mistreated in 2Philippi, as you know, we had the boldness in our God 3to speak to you the 4gospel of God amid much 56opposition.
3For our 7exhortation does not come from 8error or 9impurity or 10by way of 11deceit;
412but just as we have been approved by God to be 13entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, 14not as pleasing men, but God who 1516examines our hearts.
5For we never came 17with flattering speech, as you know, nor with 18a pretext for greed--19God is witness--
6nor did we 20seek glory from men, either from you or from others, even though as 21apostles of Christ 22we might have 23asserted our authority.
