1 Peter 1:18-25

18knowing that you were not 1 2redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your 3futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, 19but with precious 4blood, as of a 5lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ. 20For He was 6foreknown before 7the foundation of the world, but has 8appeared 9in these last times 10for the sake of you 21who through Him are 11believers in God, who raised Him from the dead and 12gave Him glory, so that your faith and 13hope are in God.

22Since you have 14purified your souls 15in obedience to the truth for a 16sincere love of the brothers and sisters, fervently love one another from 17the heart, 23for you have been 18born again 19not of seed which is perishable, but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring 20word of God. 24For, “21All flesh is like grass, And all its glory is like the flower of grass. The grass withers, And the flower falls off,25 22But the word of the Lord endures forever.” And this is 23the word which was 24preached to you.
