1 John 5:1-12

1 1Everyone who believes that Jesus is the 2Christ has been 3born of God, and everyone who loves the 4Father 5loves the child born of Him. 2 6By this we know that 7we love the children of God, when we love God and 8follow His commandments. 3For 9this is the love of God, that we 10keep His commandments; and 11His commandments are not burdensome. 4For 12whoever has been 13born of God 14overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world: our faith.

5Who is the one who overcomes the world, but the one who 15believes that Jesus is the Son of God? 6This is the One who came 16by water and blood, Jesus Christ; not 17with the water only, but 18with the water and 19with the blood. It is 20the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. 7For there are 21three that testify: 8 22the Spirit and the water and the blood; and the three are 23in agreement. 9 24If we receive the testimony of people, the testimony of God is greater; for the testimony of God is this, that 25He has testified concerning His Son. 10The one who believes in the Son of God 26has the testimony in himself; the one who does not believe God has 27made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning His Son. 11And the testimony is this, that God has given us 28eternal life, and 29this life is in His Son. 12 30The one who has the Son has the life; the one who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.
