1 John 3:10-14

10By this the 1children of God and the 2children of the devil are obvious: 3anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who 4does not love his 5brother and sister.

116For this is the message 7which you have heard from the beginning, 8that we are to love one another; 12not as 9Cain, who was of 10the evil one and murdered his brother. And for what reason did he murder him? Because 11his own deeds were evil, but his brother’s were righteous.

13Do not be surprised, brothers and sisters, if 12the world hates you. 14We know that we have 13passed out of death into life, 14because we love the brothers and sisters. The one who does not love remains in death.
