Ruth 4:9-22
9Then BoazH1162 saidH559 to the eldersH2205 and allH3605 the peopleH5971, “You are witnessesH5707 todayH3117 that I have boughtH7069 from the handH3027 of NaomiH5281 allH3605 that belonged to ElimelechH458 and allH3605 that belonged to ChilionH3630 and MahlonH4248. 10MoreoverH1571, I have acquiredH7069 RuthH7327 the MoabitessH4125, the widowH802 of MahlonH4248, to be my wifeH802 in order to raiseH6965 up the nameH8034 of the deceasedH4191 on his inheritanceH5159, so 1that the nameH8034 of the deceasedH4191 will not be cutH3772 offH3772 from his brothersH251 or from the 2courtH8179 of his birth placeH4725; you are witnessesH5707 todayH3117.” 11AllH3605 the peopleH5971 whoH834 were in the 3courtH8179, and the eldersH2205, saidH559, “We are witnessesH5707. May the LordH3068 makeH5414 the womanH802 who is comingH935 into your homeH1004 4like RachelH7354 and LeahH3812, bothH8147 of whomH834 builtH1129 the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478; and may you achieveH6213 5wealthH2428 in EphrathahH672 and 6becomeH7121 famousH7121H8034 in BethlehemH1035. 12Moreover, may your houseH1004 be like the houseH1004 of 7PerezH6557 whomH834 TamarH8559 boreH3205 to JudahH3063, throughH4480 the 8offspringH2233 whichH834 the LordH3068 will giveH5414 you by thisH2088 youngH5291 womanH5291.”
13So BoazH1162 tookH3947 RuthH7327, and she becameH1961 his wifeH802, and he wentH935 in to her. And 9the LordH3068 10enabledH5414 her to conceiveH2032, and she gaveH3205 birthH3205 to a sonH1121. 14Then the 11womenH802 saidH559 to NaomiH5281, “BlessedH1288 is the LordH3068 whoH834 has not leftH7673 you withoutH7673 a 12redeemerH1350 todayH3117, and may his nameH8034 13becomeH7121 famousH7121 in IsraelH3478. 15May he also be to you a restorerH7725 of lifeH5315 and a sustainerH3557 of your oldH7872 ageH7872; for your daughter-in-lawH3618, whoH834 lovesH157 you 1415and is betterH2896 to you thanH4480 sevenH7651 sonsH1121, has givenH3205 birthH3205 to him.” 16Then NaomiH5281 tookH3947 the childH3206 16and laidH7896 him in her lapH2436, and becameH1961 his nurseH539. 17The neighborH7934 womenH7934 gaveH7121 him a nameH8034, sayingH559, “A sonH1121 has been bornH3205 to NaomiH5281!” So they namedH7121H8034 him ObedH5744. He is the fatherH1 of JesseH3448, the fatherH1 of DavidH1732.
18Now theseH428 are the generationsH8435 of PerezH6557: 17to PerezH6557 18was bornH3205 HezronH2696, 19and to HezronH2696 was bornH3205 RamH7410, and to RamH7410, AmminadabH5992, 20and to AmminadabH5992 was bornH3205 NahshonH5177, and to NahshonH5177, SalmonH8009, 21and to SalmonH8012 was bornH3205 BoazH1162, and to BoazH1162, ObedH5744, 22and to ObedH5744 was bornH3205 JesseH3448, and to JesseH3448, DavidH1732.
