Judges 12:1-4
Then the menH376 of EphraimH669 were summonedH6817, and they crossedH5674 1to ZaphonH6829 and 2saidH559 to JephthahH3316, “WhyH4069 did you crossH5674 overH5674 to fightH3898 against the sonsH1121 of AmmonH5983 withoutH3808 callingH7121 us to goH1980 with you? We will burnH8313 your houseH1004 down on you.”
JephthahH3316 saidH559 to them, “I and my peopleH5971 were at greatH3966 strifeH7379 with the sonsH1121 of AmmonH5983; when I calledH2199 you, you did not deliverH3467 me from their handH3027.
When I sawH7200 that you would not deliverH3467 me, I 34tookH7760 my lifeH5315 in my handsH3709 and crossedH5674 overH5674 againstH413 the sonsH1121 of AmmonH5983, and the LordH3068 gaveH5414 them into my handH3027. WhyH4100 then have you comeH5927 up to me thisH2088 dayH3117 to fightH3898 against me?”
Then JephthahH3316 gatheredH6908 allH3605 the menH376 of GileadH1568 and foughtH3898 EphraimH669; and the menH376 of GileadH1568 5defeatedH5221 EphraimH669, becauseH3588 they saidH559, “You are fugitivesH6412 of EphraimH669, O GileaditesH1568, in the midstH8432 of EphraimH669 and in the midstH8432 of ManassehH4519.”
