Joshua 7:11-26

11IsraelH3478 has sinnedH2398, and 1they have alsoH1571 transgressedH5674 My covenantH1285 whichH834 I commandedH6680 them. And they have evenH1571 takenH3947 someH4480 of the thingsH2764 underH2764 the banH2764 and have bothH1571 stolenH1589 and deceivedH3584. Moreover, they have alsoH1571 putH7760 them among their own thingsH3627. 12Therefore the 2sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478 cannotH3201H3808 standH6965 beforeH6440 their enemiesH340; they turnH6437 their 3backsH6203 beforeH6440 their enemiesH340, for they have becomeH1961 accursedH2764. I will not be with you anymoreH3254 unlessH518H3808 you destroyH8045 the thingsH2764 underH2764 the banH2764 from your midstH7130. 13RiseH6965 up! 4ConsecrateH6942 the peopleH5971 and sayH559, ‘ConsecrateH6942 yourselves for tomorrowH4279, for thusH3541 the LordH3068, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, has saidH559, “5There are thingsH2764 underH2764 the banH2764 in your midstH7130, O IsraelH3478. You cannotH3201H3808 standH6965 beforeH6440 your enemiesH340 untilH5704 you have removedH5493 the thingsH2764 underH2764 the banH2764 from your midstH7130.” 14In the morningH1242 then you shall comeH7126 nearH7126 by your tribesH7626. And it shall be that the tribeH7626 whichH834 6the LordH3068 takesH3920 by lot shall comeH7126 nearH7126 by familiesH4940, and the familyH4940 whichH834 the LordH3068 takesH3920 shall comeH7126 nearH7126 by householdsH1004, and the householdH1004 whichH834 the LordH3068 takesH3920 shall comeH7126 nearH7126 manH1397 by manH1397. 157It shall be that the one who is takenH3920 with the thingsH2764 underH2764 the banH2764 shall be burnedH8313 with fireH784, he and allH3605 that belongs to him, becauseH3588 he has transgressedH5674 the covenantH1285 of the LordH3068, and becauseH3588 he 8has committedH6213 a disgracefulH5039 thingH5039 in IsraelH3478.’”

16So JoshuaH3091 aroseH7925 earlyH7925 in the morningH1242 and broughtH7126 IsraelH3478 nearH7126 by 9tribesH7626, and the tribeH7626 of JudahH3063 was takenH3920. 17He broughtH7126 the familyH4940 of JudahH3063 nearH7126, and he tookH3920 the familyH4940 of the ZerahitesH2227; and he broughtH7126 the familyH4940 of the ZerahitesH2227 nearH7126 manH1397 by manH1397, and ZabdiH2067 was takenH3920. 18He broughtH7126 his householdH1004 nearH7126 manH1397 by manH1397; and 10AchanH5912, sonH1121 of CarmiH3756, sonH1121 of ZabdiH2067, sonH1121 of ZerahH2226, from the tribeH4294 of JudahH3063, was takenH3920. 19Then JoshuaH3091 saidH559 to AchanH5912, “My sonH1121, I imploreH4994 you, 11giveH7760 gloryH3519 to the LordH3068, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, and giveH5414 praiseH8426 to Him; and tellH5046 me nowH4994 whatH4100 you have doneH6213. Do not hideH3582 it from me.” 20So AchanH5912 answeredH6030 JoshuaH3091 and saidH559, “TrulyH546, I have sinnedH2398 against the LordH3068, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, and 12thisH2088 is whatH2088 I didH6213: 21when I sawH7200 among the spoilH7998 a beautifulH2896 mantleH155 from ShinarH8152 and two hundredH3967 shekelsH8255 of silverH3701 and a barH3956 of goldH2091 fiftyH2572 shekelsH8255 in weightH4948, then I 13covetedH2530 them and tookH3947 them; and beholdH2009, they are concealedH2934 in the earthH776 insideH8432 my tentH168 with the silverH3701 underneathH8478 it.”

22So JoshuaH3091 sentH7971 messengersH4397, and they ranH7323 to the tentH168; and beholdH2009, it was concealedH2934 in his tentH168 with the silverH3701 underneathH8478 it. 23They tookH3947 them from insideH8432 the tentH168 and broughtH935 them to JoshuaH3091 and to allH3605 the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478, and they pouredH3332 them out beforeH6440 the LordH3068. 24Then JoshuaH3091 and allH3605 IsraelH3478 with him, tookH3947 AchanH5912 the sonH1121 of ZerahH2226, the silverH3701, the mantleH155, the barH3956 of goldH2091, his sonsH1121, his daughtersH1323, his 14oxenH7794, his donkeysH2543, his sheepH6629, his tentH168 and allH3605 that belonged to him; and they broughtH5927 them up to 15the valleyH6010 of 16AchorH5911. 25JoshuaH3091 saidH559, “WhyH4100 have you 17troubledH5916 us? The LordH3068 will troubleH5916 you thisH2088 dayH3117.” And allH3605 IsraelH3478 stonedH7275 18them with stonesH68; and they burnedH8313 them with fireH784 19after they had stonedH5619 them with stonesH68. 26They raisedH6965 overH5921 him a greatH1419 heapH1530 of stonesH68 that stands to thisH2088 dayH3117, and the LordH3068 turnedH7725 from the fiercenessH2740 of His angerH639. ThereforeH5921H3651 the nameH8034 of that placeH4725 has been calledH7121 20the valleyH6010 of 21AchorH5911 to thisH2088 dayH3117.
