Joshua 10:10-43
101And the LordH3068 confoundedH2000 them beforeH6440 IsraelH3478, and He 2slewH5221 them with a greatH1419 slaughterH4347 at GibeonH1391, and pursuedH7291 them by the wayH1870 of the ascentH4608 of Beth-horonH1032 and struckH5221 them as farH5704 as AzekahH5825 and MakkedahH4719. 11As they fledH5127 from beforeH4480H6440 IsraelH3478, while they were at the descentH4174 of Beth-horonH1032, 3the LordH3068 threwH7993 largeH1419 stonesH68 from heavenH8064 on them as farH5704 as AzekahH5825, and they diedH4191; there were moreH7227 whoH834 diedH4191 4from the hailstonesH1259H68 thanH4480 those whomH834 the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478 killedH2026 with the swordH2719.
12ThenH227 JoshuaH3091 spokeH1696 to the LordH3068 in the dayH3117 when the LordH3068 deliveredH5414 up the AmoritesH567 beforeH6440 the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478, and he saidH559 in the sightH5869 of IsraelH3478, “O 5sunH8121, standH1826 stillH1826 at GibeonH1391, And O moonH3394 in the valleyH6010 of AijalonH357.”136So the sunH8121 stoodH1826 stillH1826, and the moonH3394 stoppedH5975, UntilH5704 the nationH1471 avengedH5358 themselves of their enemiesH340. Is it not writtenH3789 in 7the bookH5612 of JasharH3477? And 8the sunH8121 stoppedH5975 in the middleH2677 of the skyH8064 and did not hastenH213 to goH935 down for about a wholeH8549 dayH3117. 14There was noH3808 dayH3117 like that beforeH6440 it or afterH310 it, when the LordH3068 listenedH8085 to the voiceH6963 of a manH376; for 9the LordH3068 foughtH3898 for IsraelH3478.
15Then JoshuaH3091 and allH3605 IsraelH3478 with him returnedH7725 to the campH4264 to GilgalH1537.
16Now theseH428 10fiveH2568 kingsH4428 had fledH5127 and hiddenH2244 themselves in the caveH4631 at MakkedahH4719. 17It was toldH5046 JoshuaH3091, sayingH559, “The fiveH2568 kingsH4428 have been foundH4672 hiddenH2244 in the caveH4631 at MakkedahH4719.” 18JoshuaH3091 saidH559, “RollH1556 largeH1419 stonesH68 againstH413 the mouthH6310 of the caveH4631, and assignH6485 menH376 by it to guardH8104 them, 19but do not stayH5975 there yourselvesH864; pursueH7291 your enemiesH340 and 11attackH2179 them in the rearH2179. Do not allowH5414 them to enterH935 their citiesH5892, for the LordH3068 your GodH430 has deliveredH5414 them into your handH3027.” 20It cameH1961 about when JoshuaH3091 and the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478 had finishedH3615 12slayingH5221 them with a veryH3966 greatH1419 slaughterH4347, 13untilH5704 they were destroyedH8552, and the survivorsH8300 who remainedH8277 of them 14had enteredH935 the fortifiedH4013 citiesH5892, 21that allH3605 the peopleH5971 returnedH7725 to the campH4264 to JoshuaH3091 at MakkedahH4719 in peaceH7965. NoH3808 one 15utteredH2782 a wordH3956 against any of the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478.
22Then JoshuaH3091 saidH559, “OpenH6605 the mouthH6310 of the caveH4631 and bringH3318 theseH428 fiveH2568 kingsH4428 out to me from the caveH4631.” 23They didH6213 soH3651, and 16broughtH3318 theseH428 fiveH2568 kingsH4428 out to him from the caveH4631: the kingH4428 of JerusalemH3389, the kingH4428 of HebronH2275, the kingH4428 of JarmuthH3412, the kingH4428 of LachishH3923, and the kingH4428 of EglonH5700. 24When they broughtH3318 theseH428 kingsH4428 out to JoshuaH3091, JoshuaH3091 calledH7121 for allH3605 the menH376 of IsraelH3478, and saidH559 to the chiefsH7101 of the menH376 of warH4421 who had goneH1980 with him, “ComeH7126 nearH7126, 17putH7760 your feetH7272 on the necksH6677 of theseH428 kingsH4428.” So they cameH7126 nearH7126 and putH7760 their feetH7272 on their necksH6677. 25JoshuaH3091 then saidH559 to them, “18Do not fearH3372 or be dismayedH2865! Be strongH2388 and courageousH553, for thusH3602 the LordH3068 will doH6213 to allH3605 your enemiesH340 with whomH834 you fightH3898.” 26So afterwardH310H3651 JoshuaH3091 struckH5221 them and putH4191 them to deathH4191, and he 19hangedH8518 them on fiveH2568 treesH6086; and they hungH8518 on the treesH6086 untilH5704 eveningH6153. 27It cameH1961 about at 20sunsetH8121H935 that JoshuaH3091 gaveH6680 a commandH6680, and 21they tookH3381 them downH3381 from the treesH6086 and threwH7993 them into the caveH4631 whereH834H8033 they had hiddenH2244 themselves, and putH7760 largeH1419 stonesH68 overH5921 the mouthH6310 of the caveH4631, to thisH2088 veryH6106 dayH3117.
28Now JoshuaH3091 capturedH3920 MakkedahH4719 on that dayH3117, and struckH5221 it and its kingH4428 with the edgeH6310 of the swordH2719; 22he 23utterlyH2763 destroyedH2763 24it and everyH3605 25personH5315 whoH834 was in it. He leftH7604 noH3808 survivorH8300. Thus he didH6213 to the kingH4428 of MakkedahH4719 26justH3512 as he had doneH6213 to the kingH4428 of JerichoH3405.
29Then JoshuaH3091 and allH3605 IsraelH3478 with him passedH5674 on from MakkedahH4719 to 27LibnahH3841, and foughtH3898 againstH5973 LibnahH3841. 30The LordH3068 gaveH5414 it alsoH1571 with its kingH4428 into the handsH3027 of IsraelH3478, and he struckH5221 it and everyH3605 personH5315 whoH834 was in it with the edgeH6310 of the swordH2719. He leftH7604 noH3808 survivorH8300 in it. Thus he didH6213 to its kingH4428 justH3512 as he had doneH6213 to the kingH4428 of JerichoH3405.
31And JoshuaH3091 and allH3605 IsraelH3478 with him passedH5674 on from LibnahH3841 to LachishH3923, and they campedH2583 by it and foughtH3898 against it. 32The LordH3068 gaveH5414 LachishH3923 into the handsH3027 of IsraelH3478; and he capturedH3920 it on the secondH8145 dayH3117, and struckH5221 it and everyH3605 personH5315 whoH834 was in it with the edgeH6310 of the swordH2719, according to allH3605 that he had doneH6213 to LibnahH3841.
33ThenH227 HoramH2036 kingH4428 of 28GezerH1507 cameH5927 up to helpH5826 LachishH3923, and JoshuaH3091 29defeatedH5221 him and his peopleH5971 untilH5704 he had leftH7604 him noH1115 survivorH8300.
34And JoshuaH3091 and allH3605 IsraelH3478 with him passedH5674 on from LachishH3923 to EglonH5700, and they campedH2583 by it and foughtH3898 againstH5921 it. 35They capturedH3920 it on that dayH3117 and struckH5221 it with the edgeH6310 of the swordH2719; and he 30utterlyH2763 destroyedH2763 that dayH3117 everyH3605 personH5315 whoH834 was in it, according to allH3605 that he had doneH6213 to LachishH3923.
36Then JoshuaH3091 and allH3605 IsraelH3478 with him wentH5927 up from EglonH5700 to 31HebronH2275, and they foughtH3898 againstH5921 it. 37They capturedH3920 it and struckH5221 it and its kingH4428 and allH3605 its citiesH5892 and allH3605 the personsH5315 whoH834 were in it with the edgeH6310 of the swordH2719. He leftH7604 noH3808 survivorH8300, according to allH3605 that he had doneH6213 to EglonH5700. And he 32utterlyH2763 destroyedH2763 it and everyH3605 personH5315 whoH834 was in it.
38Then JoshuaH3091 and allH3605 IsraelH3478 with him returnedH7725 to 33DebirH1688, and they foughtH3898 againstH5921 it. 39He capturedH3920 it and its kingH4428 and allH3605 its citiesH5892, and they struckH5221 them with the edgeH6310 of the swordH2719, and 34utterlyH2763 destroyedH2763 everyH3605 personH5315 who was in it. He leftH7604 noH3808 survivorH8300. JustH3512 as he had doneH6213 to HebronH2275, soH3651 he didH6213 to DebirH1688 and its kingH4428, as he had also doneH6213 to LibnahH3841 and its kingH4428.
40Thus JoshuaH3091 struckH5221 allH3605 the landH776, 35the hillH2022 countryH2022 and the 36NegevH5045 and the lowlandH8219 and the slopesH794 and 37allH3605 their kingsH4428. He leftH7604 noH3808 survivorH8300, but 38he 39utterlyH2763 destroyedH2763 allH3605 whoH5397 breathedH5397, justH3512 as the LordH3068, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, had commandedH6680. 41JoshuaH3091 struckH5221 them from Kadesh-barneaH6947 even as farH5704 as GazaH5804, and allH3605 the countryH776 of 40GoshenH1657 even as farH5704 as GibeonH1391. 42JoshuaH3091 capturedH3920 allH3605 theseH428 kingsH4428 and their landsH776 at oneH259 timeH6471, becauseH3588 41the LordH3068, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, foughtH3898 for IsraelH3478. 43So JoshuaH3091 and allH3605 IsraelH3478 with him returnedH7725 to the campH4264 at GilgalH1537.
