Habakkuk 2:1-8
1I will 1standH5975 on my guardH4931 postH4931 And stationH3320 myself on the rampartH4692; And I will 2keepH6822 watchH6822 to seeH7200 3whatH4100 He will speakH1696 to me, And howH4100 I may replyH7725 4whenH5921 I am reprovedH8433.2Then the LordH3068 answeredH6030 me and saidH559, “5RecordH3789 the visionH2377 And inscribeH874 it on tabletsH3871, That 6the one who 7readsH7121 it may runH7323.3For the visionH2377 is yetH5750 for the 8appointedH4150 timeH4150; It 9hastensH6315 toward the goalH7093 and it will not 10failH3576. ThoughH518 it tarriesH4102, 11waitH2442 for it; For it will certainlyH935 comeH935, it 12will not delayH309.
4“BeholdH2009, as for the 13proudH6075 one, His soulH5315 is not rightH3474 within him; But the 14righteousH6662 will liveH2421 by his 15faithH530.5FurthermoreH637, 16wineH3196 betraysH898 the 17haughtyH3093 manH1397, So that he does not 18stayH5115 at homeH5115. He 19enlargesH7337 his appetiteH5315 like SheolH7585, And he is like deathH4194, neverH3808 satisfiedH7646. He also gathersH622 to himself allH3605 nationsH1471 And collectsH622 to himself allH3605 peoplesH5971.
6“Will not allH3605 of theseH428 20takeH5375 up a taunt-songH4912 againstH5921 him, Even mockeryH4426 and insinuationsH2420 against him And sayH559, ‘21WoeH1945 to him who increasesH7235 what is not his-- For howH4970 longH5704H4970-- And makesH3513 himself 22richH3513 with loansH5671?’7Will not 23your creditorsH5391 24riseH6965 up suddenlyH6621, And those who 25collectH2111 from you awakenH3364? Indeed, you will becomeH1961 plunderH4933 for them.8BecauseH3588 you have 26lootedH7997 manyH7227 nationsH1471, AllH3605 the remainderH3499 of the peoplesH5971 will lootH7997 you-- BecauseH4480 of humanH120 bloodshedH1818 and violenceH2555 27done to the landH776, To the townH7151 and allH3605 its inhabitantsH3427.
