Habakkuk 2:1-8
1I will 1standH5975 at my guardH4931 postH4931 And stationH3320 myself on the watchtowerH4692; And I will 2keepH6822 watchH6822 to seeH7200 3whatH4100 He will sayH1696 to me, And howH4100 I may replyH7725 4whenH5921 I am reprimandedH8433.2Then the LordH3068 answeredH6030 me and saidH559, “5WriteH3789 downH3789 the visionH2377 And inscribeH874 it clearlyH874 on tabletsH3871, SoH4616 thatH4616 one who 6readsH7121 it may runH7323.3For the visionH2377 is yetH5750 for the 7appointedH4150 timeH4150; It 8hurriesH6315 toward the goalH7093 and it will not 9failH3576. ThoughH518 it delaysH4102, 10waitH2442 for it; For it will certainlyH935 comeH935, it 11will not delayH309 long.
4“BeholdH2009, as for the 12impudentH6075 one, His soulH5315 isH3474 not rightH3474 within him; But the 13righteousH6662 oneH6662 will liveH2421 by his 14faithH530.5FurthermoreH637, 15wineH3196 betraysH898 an 16arrogantH3093 manH1397, So that he does not 17achieveH5115 his objectiveH5115. He 18enlargesH7337 his appetiteH5315 like SheolH7585, And he is like deathH4194, neverH3808 satisfiedH7646. He also gathersH622 to himself allH3605 the nationsH1471 And collectsH622 to himself allH3605 the peoplesH5971.
6“Will allH3605 of theseH428 not 19takeH5375 upH5375 a songH4912 ofH4912 ridiculeH4912 againstH5921 him, Even a sayingH4426 and insinuationsH2420 against him And sayH559, ‘20WoeH1945 to him who increasesH7235 what is not his-- For howH4970 longH5704H4970-- And makesH3513 himself 21richH3513 with debtsH5671!’7Will 22your creditorsH5391 not 23riseH6965 upH6965 suddenlyH6621, And those who 24collectH2111 from you awakenH3364? Indeed, you will becomeH1961 plunderH4933 for them.8SinceH3588 you have 25lootedH7997 manyH7227 nationsH1471, AllH3605 the restH3499 of the peoplesH5971 will lootH7997 you-- BecauseH4480 of humanH120 bloodshedH1818 and violenceH2555 26done to the landH776, To the townH7151 and allH3605 its inhabitantsH3427.
