Joshua, the High Priest

1Then he showedוַיַּרְאֵ֗נִיvai.yar.'E.niH7200meJoshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֙עַ֙ye.ho.Shu.a'H3091the highהַגָּד֔וֹלha.ga.DolH1419priestהַכֹּהֵ֣ןha.ko.HenH3548standingעֹמֵ֕ד'o.MedH5975beforeלִפְנֵ֖יlif.NeiH6440the angelמַלְאַ֣ךְmal.'AkhH4397of the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068, andSatanוְהַשָּׂטָ֛ןve.ha.sa.TanH7854standingעֹמֵ֥ד'o.MedH5975at his rightיְמִינ֖וֹye.mi.NoH3225handH3225to accuseלְשִׂטְנֽוֹ׃le.sit.NoH7853him.

2The Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Satanהַשָּׂטָ֗ןha.sa.TanH7854, “The Lordיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068rebukeיִגְעַ֨רyig.'ArH1605you, Satanהַשָּׂטָ֔ןha.sa.TanH7854!Indeed, the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068who haschosenהַבֹּחֵ֖רha.bo.CherH977Jerusalemבִּירֽוּשָׁלִָ֑םbi.ru.sha.LimH3389rebukeוְיִגְעַ֤רve.yig.'ArH1605you! Is thisזֶ֦הzehH2088not abrandא֖וּד'udH181pluckedמֻצָּ֥לmu.TzalH5337from the fireמֵאֵֽשׁ׃me.'EshH784?”

3Now Joshuaוִיהוֹשֻׁ֕עַvi.ho.Shu.a'H3091was clothedלָבֻ֖שׁla.VushH3847withfilthyצוֹאִ֑יםtzo.'ImH6674garmentsבְּגָדִ֣יםbe.ga.DimH899and standingוְעֹמֵ֖דve.'o.MedH5975beforeלִפְנֵ֥יlif.NeiH6440the angelהַמַּלְאָֽךְ׃ha.mal.'AkhH4397.

4He spokeוַיַּ֣עַןvai.Ya.'anH6030and saidוַיֹּ֗אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to those who were standingהָעֹמְדִ֤יםha.'o.me.DimH5975beforeלְפָנָיו֙le.fa.NavH6440him, sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559, “Removeהָסִ֛ירוּha.Si.ruH5493the filthyהַצֹּאִ֖יםha.tzo.'ImH6674garmentsהַבְּגָדִ֥יםha.be.ga.DimH899from him.” Again he saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to him, “Seeרְאֵ֨הre.'EhH7200, I havetakenH5674your iniquityעֲוֹנֶ֔ךָ'a.vo.Ne.khaH5771awayהֶעֱבַ֤רְתִּיhe.'e.Var.tiH5674from you and willclotheוְהַלְבֵּ֥שׁve.hal.BeshH3847you with festalH4254robesH4254.”

5Then I saidוָאֹמַ֕רva.'o.MarH559, “Let them putיָשִׂ֛ימוּya.Si.muH7760a cleanטָה֖וֹרta.HorH2889turbanצָנִ֥יףtza.NifH6797on his headרֹאשׁ֑וֹro.ShoH7218.”So they putוַיָּשִׂימוּ֩vai.ya.si.MuH7760a cleanהַטָּה֜וֹרha.ta.HorH2889turbanהַצָּנִ֨יףha.tza.NifH6797on his headרֹאשׁ֗וֹro.ShoH7218and clothedוַיַּלְבִּשֻׁ֙הוּ֙vai.yal.bi.Shu.huH3847him with garmentsבְּגָדִ֔יםbe.ga.DimH899,while the angelוּמַלְאַ֥ךְu.mal.'AkhH4397of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068was standingעֹמֵֽד׃'o.MedH5975by.

6And the angelמַלְאַ֣ךְmal.'AkhH4397of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068admonishedוַיָּ֙עַד֙vai.Ya.'adH5749Joshuaבִּיהוֹשֻׁ֖עַbi.ho.Shu.a'H3091,sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

7“Thusכֹּה־koh-H3541saysאָמַ֞ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָא֗וֹתtze.va.'otH6635, ‘Ifאִם־'im-H518you willwalkתֵּלֵךְ֙te.leKhH1980in My waysבִּדְרָכַ֤יbid.ra.KhaiH1870and ifוְאִ֣םve.'ImH518you will performH8104My serviceמִשְׁמַרְתִּ֣יmish.mar.TiH4931,then you will alsoוְגַם־ve.gam-H1571governתָּדִ֣יןta.DinH1777My houseבֵּיתִ֔יbei.TiH1004and alsoוְגַ֖םve.GamH1571haveH8104chargeH8104of Mycourtsחֲצֵרָ֑יcha.tze.RaiH2691,and I will grantוְנָתַתִּ֤יve.na.ta.TiH5414youfreeמַהְלְכִ֔יםmah.le.KhimH4109accessH1980amongבֵּ֥יןbeinH996theseהָאֵֽלֶּה׃ha.'E.lehH428who are standingהָעֹמְדִ֖יםha.'o.me.DimH5975here.

9For beholdH2009,the stoneהָאֶ֗בֶןha.'E.venH68that I have setנָתַ֙תִּי֙na.Ta.tiH5414beforeלִפְנֵ֣יlif.NeiH6440Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֔עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091;on oneאַחַ֖ת'a.ChatH259stoneאֶ֥בֶן'E.venH68aresevenשִׁבְעָ֣הshiv.'AhH7651eyesעֵינָ֑יִם'ei.Na.yimH5869.BeholdH2009,I will engraveמְפַתֵּ֣חַme.fa.Te.achH6605an inscriptionפִּתֻּחָ֗הּpi.tu.ChahH6603on it,’ declaresנְאֻם֙ne.'UmH5002the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָא֔וֹתtze.va.'otH6635, ‘and I willremoveוּמַשְׁתִּ֛יu.mash.TiH4185the iniquityעֲוֹ֥ן'a.VonH5771of that landהָאָֽרֶץ־ha.'a.retz-H776in oneאֶחָֽד׃'e.ChadH259dayבְּי֥וֹםbe.YomH3117.

10In that dayבַּיּ֣וֹםbai.YomH3117,’declaresנְאֻם֙ne.'UmH5002the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָא֔וֹתtze.va.'otH6635, ‘everyH376oneH376of you will inviteתִּקְרְא֖וּtik.re.'UH7121his neighborלְרֵעֵ֑הוּle.re.'E.huH7453to situnderתַּ֥חַתTa.chatH8478hisvineגֶּ֖פֶןGe.fenH1612and underתַּ֥חַתTa.chatH8478hisfigתְּאֵנָֽה׃te.'e.NahH8384treeH8384.’”
