3The sonsבְנֵֽי־ve.nei-H1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478criedוַיִּצְעֲק֥וּvai.yitz.'a.KuH6817to the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068;for he had nineתְּשַׁ֨עte.Sha'H8672hundredמֵא֤וֹתme.'otH3967ironבַּרְזֶל֙bar.ZelH1270chariotsרֶֽכֶב־re.khev-H7393,and he oppressedלָחַ֞ץla.ChatzH3905the sonsבְּנֵ֧יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֛לYis.ra.'ElH3478severelyבְּחָזְקָ֖הbe.cha.ze.KahH2394for twentyעֶשְׂרִ֥ים'es.RimH6242yearsשָׁנָֽה׃ סsha.NahH8141.
5She used tositיוֹשֶׁ֨בֶתyo.She.vetH3427underתַּֽחַת־ta.chat-H8478thepalmH8560treeH8560of Deborahדְּבוֹרָ֗הde.vo.RahH1683betweenH996Ramahהָרָמָ֛הha.ra.MahH7414and BethelH1008in the hillבְּהַ֣רbe.HarH2022countryH2022of Ephraimאֶפְרָ֑יִם'ef.Ra.yimH669;and the sonsבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478cameוַיַּעֲל֥וּvai.ya.'a.LuH5927up to her for judgmentלַמִּשְׁפָּֽט׃la.mish.PatH4941.
6Now she sentוַתִּשְׁלַ֗חva.tish.LachH7971and summonedוַתִּקְרָא֙va.tik.Ra'H7121Barakלְבָרָ֣קle.va.RakH1301the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Abinoamאֲבִינֹ֔עַם'a.vi.No.'amH42from Kedesh-naphtaliמִקֶּ֖דֶשׁ נַפְתָּלִ֑יmi.Ke.desh naf.ta.LiH6943H5321,and saidוַתֹּ֨אמֶרva.To.merH559to him, “Beholdהֲלֹ֥אha.Lo'H3808,the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068,the Godאֱלֹהֵֽי־'e.lo.hei-H430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478,has commandedצִוָּ֣ה׀tzi.VahH6680, ‘Goלֵ֤ךְlekhH1980and marchוּמָֽשַׁכְתָּ֙u.ma.shakh.TaH4900to Mountבְּהַ֣רbe.HarH2022Taborתָּב֔וֹרta.VorH8396,and takeוְלָקַחְתָּ֣ve.la.kach.TaH3947with you tenעֲשֶׂ֤רֶת'a.Se.retH6235thousandאֲלָפִים֙'a.la.FimH505menאִ֔ישׁ'IshH376from the sonsמִבְּנֵ֥יmi.be.NeiH1121of Naphtaliנַפְתָּלִ֖יnaf.ta.LiH5321and from the sonsוּמִבְּנֵ֥יu.mi.be.NeiH1121of Zebulunזְבֻלֽוּן׃ze.vu.LunH2074.
7I will drawוּמָשַׁכְתִּ֨יu.ma.shakh.TiH4900out to you Siseraסִֽיסְרָא֙si.se.Ra'H5516,the commanderשַׂר־sar-H8269of Jabin’sיָבִ֔יןya.VinH2985armyצְבָ֣אtze.Va'H6635,with his chariotsרִכְבּ֖וֹrikh.BoH7393and hismanyהֲמוֹנ֑וֹha.mo.NoH1995troopsto the riverנַ֣חַלNa.chalH5158Kishonקִישׁ֗וֹןki.ShonH7028, andI will giveוּנְתַתִּ֖יהוּu.ne.ta.Ti.huH5414him into your handבְּיָדֶֽךָ׃be.ya.De.khaH3027.’”
9She saidוַתֹּ֜אמֶרva.To.merH559, “I will surelyהָלֹ֧ךְha.LokhH1980goאֵלֵ֣ךְ'e.LekhH1980with you; neverthelessאֶ֚פֶס'E.fesH657H3588,the honorתִּֽפְאַרְתְּךָ֗tif.'ar.te.KhaH8597shall not be yours on the journeyהַדֶּ֙רֶךְ֙ha.De.rekhH1870that you are about to takeהוֹלֵ֔ךְho.LekhH1980,for the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068will sellיִמְכֹּ֥רyim.KorH4376Siseraסִֽיסְרָ֑אsis.Ra'H5516into the handsבְֽיַד־ve.yad-H3027of a womanאִשָּׁ֔ה'i.ShahH802.”Then Deborahדְּבוֹרָ֛הde.vo.RahH1683aroseוַתָּ֧קָםva.Ta.komH6965and wentוַתֵּ֥לֶךva.Te.lekhH1980with Barakבָּרָ֖קba.RakH1301to Kedeshקֶֽדְשָׁה׃Ked.shahH6943.
10Barakבָּרָ֜קba.RakH1301calledH2199Zebulunזְבוּלֻ֤ןze.vu.LunH2074and Naphtaliנַפְתָּלִי֙naf.ta.LiH5321togetherH2199to Kedeshקֶ֔דְשָׁהKed.shahH6943,and tenעֲשֶׂ֥רֶת'a.Se.retH6235thousandאַלְפֵ֖י'al.FeiH505menאִ֑ישׁ'IshH376wentוַיַּ֣עַלvai.Ya.'alH5927upwith him; Deborahדְּבוֹרָֽה׃de.vo.RahH1683also wentוַתַּ֥עַלva.Ta.'alH5927up with him.
11Now Heberוְחֶ֤בֶרve.Che.verH2268the Keniteהַקֵּינִי֙ha.kei.NiH7017had separatedנִפְרָ֣דnif.RadH6504himself from the Kenitesמִקַּ֔יִןmi.Ka.yinH7014,from the sonsמִבְּנֵ֥יmi.be.NeiH1121of Hobabחֹבָ֖בcho.VavH2246the father-in-lawH2860of Mosesמֹשֶׁ֑הmo.ShehH4872,and had pitchedוַיֵּ֣טvai.YetH5186his tentאָהֳל֔וֹ'o.ho.LoH168as farעַד־'ad-H5704away as theoakאֵל֥וֹן'e.LonH436inZaanannimבְּצַעֲנַנִּ֖יםbatz.'a.nimH6815,whichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834is nearאֶת־'et-H854Kedeshקֶֽדֶשׁ׃Ke.deshH6943.
13Siseraסִֽיסְרָ֜אsis.Ra'H5516calledH2199togetherH2199allכָּל־kol-H3605his chariotsרִכְבּ֗וֹrikh.BoH7393,nineתְּשַׁ֤עte.Sha'H8672hundredמֵאוֹת֙me.'OtH3967ironבַּרְזֶ֔לbar.ZelH1270chariotsרֶ֣כֶבRe.khevH7393,and allכָּל־kol-H3605the peopleהָעָ֖םha.'AmH5971whoאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834were with him, fromHarosheth-hagoyimמֵחֲרֹ֥שֶׁת הַגּוֹיִ֖םme.cha.Ro.shet ha.go.YimH2800H1471to the riverנַ֥חַלNa.chalH5158Kishonקִישֽׁוֹן׃ki.ShonH7028.
14Deborahדְּבֹרָ֨הde.vo.RahH1683saidוַתֹּאמֶר֩va.to.MerH559to Barakבָּרָ֜קba.RakH1301, “Ariseק֗וּםKumH6965!For thisזֶ֤הzehH2088is the dayהַיּוֹם֙hai.yOmH3117in whichאֲשֶׁר֩'a.SherH834the Lordיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068has givenנָתַ֨ןna.TanH5414Siseraסִֽיסְרָא֙si.se.Ra'H5516into your handsבְּיָדֶ֔ךָbe.ya.De.khaH3027;beholdהֲלֹ֥אha.Lo'H3808,the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068has goneיָצָ֣אya.Tza'H3318out beforeלְפָנֶ֑יךָle.fa.Nei.khaH6440you.” So Barakבָּרָק֙ba.RakH1301wentH3381downוַיֵּ֤רֶדvai.Ye.redH3381from Mountמֵהַ֣רme.HarH2022Taborתָּב֔וֹרta.VorH8396with tenוַעֲשֶׂ֧רֶתva.'a.Se.retH6235thousandאֲלָפִ֛ים'a.la.FimH505menאִ֖ישׁ'ishH376followingאַחֲרָֽיו׃'a.cha.RavH310him.
15The Lordיְ֠הוָהYah.wehH3068routedוַיָּ֣הָםvai.Ya.homH2000Siseraסִֽיסְרָ֨אsis.Ra'H5516and allכָּל־kol-H3605hischariotsהָרֶ֧כֶבha.Re.khevH7393and allכָּל־kol-H3605hisarmyהַֽמַּחֲנֶ֛הha.ma.cha.NehH4264with the edgeלְפִי־le.fi-H6310of the swordחֶ֖רֶבChe.revH2719beforeלִפְנֵ֣יlif.NeiH6440Barakבָרָ֑קva.RakH1301;and Siseraסִֽיסְרָ֛אsis.Ra'H5516alightedוַיֵּ֧רֶדvai.Ye.redH3381from hischariotהַמֶּרְכָּבָ֖הha.mer.ka.VahH4818and fledוַיָּ֥נָסvai.Ya.nosH5127away on footבְּרַגְלָֽיו׃be.rag.LavH7272.
16But Barakוּבָרָ֗קu.va.RakH1301pursuedרָדַ֞ףra.DafH7291the chariotsהָרֶ֙כֶב֙ha.Re.khevH7393and the armyהַֽמַּחֲנֶ֔הha.ma.cha.NehH4264as farעַ֖ד'adH5704as Harosheth-hagoyimחֲרֹ֣שֶׁת הַגּוֹיִ֑םcha.Ro.shet ha.go.YimH2800H1471,and allכָּל־kol-H3605the armyמַחֲנֵ֤הma.cha.NehH4264of Siseraסִֽיסְרָא֙si.se.Ra'H5516fellוַיִּפֹּ֞לvai.yi.PolH5307by the edgeלְפִי־le.fi-H6310of the swordחֶ֔רֶבChe.revH2719;not evenעַד־'ad-H5704oneאֶחָֽד׃'e.ChadH259was leftנִשְׁאַ֖רnish.'ArH7604.
17Now Siseraוְסִֽיסְרָא֙ve.si.se.Ra'H5516fledנָ֣סnasH5127away on footבְּרַגְלָ֔יוbe.rag.LavH7272to the tentאֹ֣הֶל'O.helH168of Jaelיָעֵ֔לya.'ElH3278the wifeאֵ֖שֶּׁת'E.shetH802of Heberחֶ֣בֶרChe.verH2268the Keniteהַקֵּינִ֑יha.kei.NiH7017, for there waspeaceשָׁל֗וֹםsha.LomH7965betweenH996Jabinיָבִ֣יןya.VinH2985the kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Hazorחָצ֔וֹרcha.TzorH2674and the houseבֵּ֖יתbeitH1004of Heberחֶ֥בֶרChe.verH2268the Keniteהַקֵּינִֽי׃ha.kei.NiH7017.
18Jaelיָעֵל֮ya.'ElH3278wentוַתֵּצֵ֣אva.te.Tze'H3318out to meetלִקְרַ֣אתlik.RatH7122Siseraסִֽיסְרָא֒si.se.Ra'H5516,and saidוַתֹּ֣אמֶרva.To.merH559to him, “Turnסוּרָ֧הsu.RahH5493asideסוּרָ֥הsu.RahH5493,my masterאֲדֹנִ֛י'a.do.NiH113,turnH5493asideוַיָּ֤סַרvai.Ya.sarH5493to me! Do not be afraidתִּירָ֑אti.Ra'H3372.”And he turnedH5493asideH5493to her into the tentהָאֹ֔הֱלָהha.'O.he.lahH168,and she coveredוַתְּכַסֵּ֖הוּva.te.kha.Se.huH3680him with arugבַּשְּׂמִיכָֽה׃ba.se.mi.KhahH8063.
19He saidוַיֹּ֧אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to her, “Pleaseנָ֥אna'H4994giveהַשְׁקִינִי־hash.ki.ni-H8248me a littleמְעַט־me.'at-H4592waterמַ֖יִםMa.yimH4325to drinkוַתַּשְׁקֵ֖הוּva.tash.Ke.huH8248,for I am thirstyצָמֵ֑אתִיtza.Me.tiH6770.”So she openedוַתִּפְתַּ֞חva.tif.TachH6605abottleנֹ֧אודNodH4997of milkהֶחָלָ֛בhe.cha.LavH2461and gaveH8248him a drinkH8248;then she coveredוַתְּכַסֵּֽהוּ׃va.te.kha.Se.huH3680him.
20He saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to her, “Standעֲמֹ֖ד'a.ModH5975in the doorwayפֶּ֣תַחPe.tachH6607of the tentהָאֹ֑הֶלha.'O.helH168,and it shall be ifאִם־'im-H518anyoneאִ֨ישׁ'ishH376comesיָב֜וֹאya.Vo'H935and inquiresוּשְׁאֵלֵ֗ךְu.she.'e.LekhH7592of you, and saysוְאָמַ֛רve.'a.MarH559, ‘Is thereהֲיֵֽשׁ־ha.yesh-H3426anyoneאִ֖ישׁ'ishH376hereפֹּ֥הpohH6311?’that you shall sayוְאָמַ֥רְתְּve.'a.MartH559, ‘Noאָֽיִן׃'A.yinH369.’”
21But Jaelיָעֵ֣לya.'ElH3278,Heber’sחֶ֠בֶרChe.verH2268wifeאֵֽשֶׁת־'e.shet-H802,tookוַתִּקַּ֣חva.ti.KachH3947a tentהָאֹ֜הֶלha.'O.helH168pegיְתַ֨דye.TadH3489andseizedוַתָּ֧שֶׂםva.Ta.semH7760a hammerH4717in her handבְּיָדָ֗הּbe.ya.DahH3027,and wentוַתָּב֤וֹאva.ta.Vo'H935secretlyH3909to him and droveוַתִּתְקַ֤עva.tit.Ka'H8628the pegהַיָּתֵד֙hai.ya.TedH3489into his templeבְּרַקָּת֔וֹbe.ra.ka.ToH7541,and it wentH6795throughH6795into the groundבָּאָ֑רֶץba.'A.retzH776;for he was soundH7290asleepH7290and exhaustedוַיָּ֖עַףvai.Ya.'afH5888.So he diedוַיָּמֹֽת׃vai.ya.MotH4191.
22And beholdוְהִנֵּ֣הve.hi.NehH2009,as Barakבָרָק֮va.RakH1301pursuedרֹדֵ֣ףro.DefH7291Siseraסִֽיסְרָא֒si.se.Ra'H5516,Jaelיָעֵל֙ya.'ElH3278cameוַתֵּצֵ֤אva.te.Tze'H3318out to meetלִקְרָאת֔וֹlik.ra.ToH7122him and saidוַתֹּ֣אמֶרva.To.merH559to him, “Comeלֵ֣ךְlekhH1980,and I will showוְאַרְאֶ֔ךָּve.'ar.'E.kaH7200you the manהָאִ֖ישׁha.'IshH376whomאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834you are seekingמְבַקֵּ֑שׁme.va.KeshH1245.”And he enteredוַיָּבֹ֣אvai.ya.Vo'H935with her, and beholdוְהִנֵּ֤הve.hi.NehH2009Siseraסִֽיסְרָא֙si.se.Ra'H5516was lyingנֹפֵ֣לno.FelH5307deadמֵ֔תMetH4191with the tentH3489pegוְהַיָּתֵ֖דve.hai.ya.TedH3489in his templeבְּרַקָּתֽוֹ׃be.ra.ka.ToH7541.
