Revelation 6:2-17
I looked, and behold, a 1white horse, and he who sat on it had a bow; and 2a crown was given to him, and he went out 3conquering and to conquer.
When He broke the second seal, I heard the 4second living creature saying, “Come5.” 4And another, 6a red horse, went out; and to him who sat on it, it was granted to 7take peace from the earth, and that men would slay one another; and a great sword was given to him.
When He broke the third seal, I heard the 8third living creature saying, “Come9.” I looked, and behold, a 10black horse; and he who sat on it had a 11pair of scales in his hand. 6And I heard something like a voice in the center of the 12four living creatures saying, “A 13quart of wheat for a 14denarius, and three 15quarts of barley for a 16denarius; and 17do not damage the oil and the wine.”
When the Lamb broke the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the 18fourth living creature saying, “Come19.” 8I looked, and behold, an 2021ashen horse; and he who sat on it had the name 22Death; and 23Hades was following with him. Authority was given to them over a fourth of the earth, 24to kill with sword and with famine and with 25pestilence and by the wild beasts of the earth.
When the Lamb broke the fifth seal, I saw 26underneath the 27altar the 28souls of those who had been slain 29because of the word of God, and because of the 30testimony which they had maintained; 10and they cried out with a loud voice, saying, “31How long, O 3233Lord, 34holy and true, 35will You refrain from 36judging and avenging our blood on 37those who dwell on the earth?” 11And 38there was given to each of them a white robe; and they were told that they should 39rest for a little while longer, 40until the number of their fellow servants and their brethren who were to be killed even as they had been, would be 41completed also.
I looked when He broke the sixth seal, and there was a great 42earthquake; and the 43sun became black as 44sackcloth made of hair, and the whole moon became like blood; 13and 45the stars of the sky fell to the earth, 46as a fig tree casts its unripe figs when shaken by a great wind. 1447The sky was split apart like a scroll when it is rolled up, and 48every mountain and island were moved out of their places. 15Then 49the kings of the earth and the great men and the 50commanders and the rich and the strong and every slave and free man hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains; 16and they 51said to the mountains and to the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the 52presence of Him 53who sits on the throne, and from the 54wrath of the Lamb; 17for 55the great day of their wrath has come, and 56who is able to stand?”
