Revelation 21:10-27

10And 1he carried me away 23in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me 4the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, 11having 5the glory of God. Her 6brilliance was like a very costly stone, as a 7stone of 8crystal-clear jasper. 129It had a great and high wall, 1011with twelve 12gates, and at the gates twelve angels; and names were written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel. 13There were three gates on the east and three gates on the north and three gates on the south and three gates on the west. 14And the wall of the city had 13twelve foundation stones, and on them were the twelve names of the 14twelve apostles of the Lamb.

15The one who spoke with me had a 15gold measuring 16rod to measure the city, and its 17gates and its wall. 16The city is laid out as a square, and its length is as great as the width; and he measured the city with the 18rod, 19fifteen hundred miles; its length and width and height are equal. 17And he measured its wall, 20seventy-two yards, according to 21human 22measurements, which are also 23angelic measurements. 18The material of the wall was 24jasper; and the city was 25pure gold, like 26clear 27glass. 1928The foundation stones of the city wall were adorned with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation stone was 29jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, 30emerald; 20the fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, 31sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprase; the eleventh, jacinth; the twelfth, amethyst. 21And the twelve 32gates were twelve 33pearls; each one of the gates was a single pearl. And the street of the city was 34pure gold, like transparent 35glass.

22I saw 36no 37temple in it, for the 38Lord God the Almighty and the 39Lamb are its 40temple. 23And the city 41has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine on it, for 42the glory of God has illumined it, and its lamp is the 43Lamb. 2444The nations will walk by its light, and the 45kings of the earth 46will bring their glory into it. 25In the daytime (for 47there will be no night there) 48its gates 49will never be closed; 26and 50they will bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it; 27and 51nothing unclean, and no one who practices abomination and lying, shall ever come into it, but only those 52whose names are 53written in the Lamb’s book of life.
