Revelation 12:3-17
3Then 1another sign appeared in heaven: and behold, a great red 2dragon having 3seven heads and 4ten horns, and on his heads were 5seven diadems. 4And his tail swept away a 6third of the stars of heaven and 7threw them to the earth. And the 8dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she gave birth 9he might devour her child. 5And 10she gave birth to a son, a male child, who is to 1112rule all the 13nations with a rod of iron; and her child was 14caught up to God and to His throne. 6Then the woman fled into the wilderness where she had a place prepared by God, so that there 15she would be nourished for 16one thousand two hundred and sixty days.
7And there was war in heaven, 17Michael and his angels waging war with the 18dragon. The dragon and 19his angels waged war, 8and they were not strong enough, and there was no longer a place found for them in heaven. 9And the great 20dragon was thrown down, the 21serpent of old who is called the devil and 22Satan, who 23deceives the whole 24world; he was 25thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. 10Then I heard 26a loud voice in heaven, saying,
“Now the 27salvation, and the power, and the 28kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the 29accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, he who accuses them before our God day and night. 11And they 30overcame him because of 31the blood of the Lamb and because of 32the word of their testimony, and they 33did not love their life even 34when faced with death. 12For this reason, 35rejoice, O heavens and 36you who 37dwell in them. 38Woe to the earth and the sea, because 39the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has only 40a short time.”
13And when the 41dragon saw that he was thrown down to the earth, he persecuted 42the woman who gave birth to the male child. 14But the 43two wings of the great eagle were given to the woman, so that she could fly 44into the wilderness to her place, where she was nourished for 45a time and times and half a time, from the 46presence of the serpent. 15And the 47serpent 48poured water like a river out of his mouth after the woman, so that he might cause her to be swept away with the flood. 1649But the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and drank up the river which the dragon 50poured out of his mouth. 17So the dragon was enraged with the woman, and went off to 51make war with the rest of her 5253children, who 54keep the commandments of God and 55hold to the testimony of Jesus.
